NIKKI SIXX: MÖTLEY CRÜE's Next CD Will Be Our 'Best Album Yet' - Dec. 1, 2012
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has vowed to make the band's next CD "the best CRÜE album yet."

Sixx and his bandmates recently released a brand new song called "Sex" to coincide with the launch of MÖTLEY CRÜE's North American co-headlining tour with KISS.

Written when the band was together during their residency in Las Vegas last February, "Sex" was the first studio track from the CRÜE since their June 2008 release of "Saints Of Los Angeles".

Asked by a fan via Facebook if he thinks there will ever be another full CRÜE album, Sixx replied, "Yes... 'Sex' was the first song and we've all been writing. We will get in the studio to finish what we started and deliver the best CRÜE album yet."

Sixx recently revealed that he has been "writing [his] ass off for months now" and that MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars "has so many riffs ready to go to" for the band's next album.

What Nikki is saying now I highly doubt is true. Based on Sex song it isn't happening.

2) Shout
3)Dr Feelgood
4)Everything else is garbage (except Corabi's disc, which kinda stands alone)
You will need to work a fucking miracle to get even a half assed effort from Vince, which means there is NO CHANCE of this being any good.

For that to be true, Vince would really have to get his shit together, Tommy is still a good drummer, but I think his mind is set on his DJ and techno bullshit, Nikki would have to write some better lyrics, and Mick doesn't need to change anything, seeing as he can still play the shit out of his guitar... This is coming from a big Crue fan by the way

Cause if I buy this and find out it isn't better than SATD, then he's in trouble. haha. Also you should not forget how good and heavy that Too Fast For Love is. 'Sex' was pretty sub-par I think I should mention and I thought SOLA was a killer and one their heaviest albums. Best material since Dr. Feelgood that was. Even though I like the self-titled one. I'm not sure at this point they can put out their best album, unless they pull and Accept on us, if you know what I mean.

Yea, glad he didn't vow to try the "Chinese Democracy" approach and give all the haters additional ammo to post with. It's easy to pile on when you are sitting behind your computer while he continues wirting, creating and making music. It doesn't matter if he is a douche or you don't like him or his band, but there are enough fans that will wnat to hear the new material. When it is released, let's compare it to your great endeavor to the music world. We won't be too judgemental, will we?

SOLA was a great release from these guys, and I'm not even a huge Crue fan. It's a shame too, because Mick is one hell of a guitarist, Tommy is a wicked drummer, and Nikki has a nice style; but their egos just outweigh their talents in my eyes.
I enjoy their music for what it is, but every time I hear something coming from Vince Neil's mouth, I wanna shove it back in his drunk-driving-accident-causing face.
I've heard the song "Sex", and I listened to with a very open mind, being that I did enjoy their last record; so hopes were a little high. What a boring track, it was! It was more watered down than the last Theory of a Deadman track. For a band celebrating a 30 year career, this should seem embarrassing. Enjoyed the last Sixx AM album though, some decent songs there.
I remember when I bought the "Red White & Crue" disc, and I heard the new tracks "Sick Love Song", and the even better "If I Die Tomorrow"; I was surprised! Those tracks rocked hard! I then had some faith when I picked up SOLA on it's release day, and it surpassed my expectations so much, that I went to both Cruefest's even.
If you guys are trying to record a GOOD record, don't follow what you did on "Sex" as a guideline; because that was worse than "New Tattoo".

I do agree on "Sex". Kinda vanilla and didn't do much for me. Sounded better live, but it seemed like a track that they had for awhile, didn't go anywhere and they finally pieced it together for a single for THE TOUR.
SixxAM has had some great tunes. I'm really looking forward to disc 3 from them. They keep getting better and better. If MC can tap into SOLA" and "Primal Scream"-like tracks, they would be onto something. More grit and heaviness, please! They need their swag back.

SoLA wasn't a Crüe record, it was a Sixx AM record with Vince singing and it mostly sucked. Sex actually sounded a little more like the real Crüe, but still wasn't close to their best. Actually, I'm starting to wonder if they still have a really good record in them....bring Corabi back and there might be a chance!

I mean, what the fuck ?

People talk shit about Vince, but Vince has one hell of a recognizable voice. He made the Crüe what it became, along with the three others. Nobody cares about pitch perfect singers, or technicians. It's all in the personality.
Alice Cooper ? Not a great singer, technically speaking. But an AMAZING performer, and a voice you can recognize in a second. Same goes with Mustaine, Danzig or Ozzy. Or Vince.

Love him or hate him, Vince Neil is a very important part of the Crüe sound.

And his first two very underrated solo albums are fucking great !

Motley Crue's albums did NOT age well. Probably the best example of a band that if you don't own anything, buy the greatest hits and stop there. Not ONE Cue record has more than two listenable songs that aren't completely of their time. Including SATD. Sex is so bad that it almost makes Tattoo listenable. Motley Crue needs to retire.

I have felt much like this since I first started checking their albums out 25 years ago. The one exception I still make is SATD, the guitar tone and overall delivery lift a couple of otherwise average songs to strength that similar later efforts couldn't achieve.

They really are a patchy band, and if they hadn't had crossover success, they'd be playing bars with most of their peers. Overrated but successful. At least they did make some standout songs early on, can't say that for most 80's glam bands.

I've been a Crue fan since '83 and all I'll say is Vince is ruining that band especially live. The last good year for them was '89 with the exception of the Corabi album which kicked ass and just might be their best one imo. Vince was an excellent front man with a unique voice, he took it all for granted and it all went away. Now he is a bloated drunk that sing live to save his life.

Even if "they" wrote a killer new album, wouldn't the Vince vocal takes just completely ruin it? I think Bob Rock is the only guy to get decent takes out of the older fatter Vince Neil i.e. Bitter Pill & Enslaved off the greatest hits.

I've been a huge CRÜE fan for the past 25 years.
I've supported everything those guys have done both in MOTLEY CRÜE and solo.

I just don't think 'Sex' is that great. It's good but it just sounds like it's one step above an album filler track.

This new CD better be great!
But, if 'Sex' is the best they could do at this point then I'm going to be one of the highly disappointed CRÜE fans.

If the new songs are as good or better than Saints of Los Angeles, I'll be very happy.

What's funny is that so many people want Corabi back, but no one saw the tour. I agree that the Corabi album was better--because it had the added dimension of a second guitar player.

SOLA wasn't that bad of an album --better than Generation Swine and New Tattoo. They were poor attempts at being something that Motley wasn't.

Dr. Feelgood was pretty damn good, and pretty much the most popular album they've released. That'll be tough to top in the classic Crue sense.

But their best was the self titled album with Corabi...hands down. That album is just brilliant and hardhitting from start to finish.

I don't think they can top Dr. Feelgood with Vince in the house...and they sure as shit can't come anywhere close to that self titled record they did with Corabi in 94. A shame really...I'd love to hear how they would have developed. They went off the rails after that self titled album. SoLA was a decent return though.
