YNGWIE MALMSTEEN: Audio Samples Of Entire 'Spellbound' Album Available - Nov. 27, 2012

Audio samples of all the tracks that are set to appear on "Spellbound", the new album from legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, can be streamed at Amazon.com. The CD will be released on December 5.

Acclaimed heavy metal singer Tim "Ripper" Owens (BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH), who has been fronting Yngwie Malmsteen's band both live and in the studio since February 2008, does not appear on "Spellbound".

Owens was unable to join Malmsteen at the Getaway Rock in July due to scheduling conflicts with Tim's official Ronnie James Dio tribute band DIO DISCIPLES. Handling most of the lead vocals during Yngwie's set at the Getaway Rock Festival was bassist Ralph Ciavolino.

Swedish bassist Bjorn Englen, who was a member of Yngwie's touring band for five years, left the group earlier this year and is currently on the road with DIO DISCIPLES, which is fully supported by Dio's widow/manager, Wendy.

Yngwie's last album, "Relentless", came out on November 22, 2010 via Malmsteen's own Rising Force Records.

Yngwie is working on his autobiography. Described as "the only real and true story written by Malmsteen himself," "Relentless", will be released in early 2013. Yngwie has also launched an instructional web site, RelentlessShred.com.

I play this style and mine is average-size. Not huge but definitely not "short". I know because of the porno I've seen, shows I'm ok. LOL. Don't be jealous because you can't play guitar very well. Yes, I know - you like players who play slow "with feeling". I could do that when I was 15. Then I learned how to play the hard stuff. Most people can't even dream of what Yngwie does, so they criticize him to make themselves feel, well, "big". They even sink so low as to criticize his whammy-bar. Sad you are.

The man doesn't have an artistic bone in his body. The first album with Ripper had some of his best stuff ever on it, but he only knows how to make two songs: fast guitar song and acoustic shred song. Profoundly uninteresting music.

I like that out of Yngwie. Not every artist needs to reinvent the wheel. Yngwie constantly does a type of music I enjoy and it's never a real big disappointment.

The last album he released was with the extra vocals that Ripper had recorded for Perpetual Flame - Ripper didn't even know he was going to be on Relentless!

Now Yngwie has NO singer so he does the vocals himself. The drums sound like shit too. I think he had no additional musicians or producers or anyone creating this album other than himself and his wife doing the album cover.

I can't think of any other artist with such poor quality control, willing to rush such crappy product out the door.

This guy needs Joe Lynn Turner SO bad

I think it sounds pretty good. I know these Amazon clips can sometimes sound worse than the original. The tunes sound good to me though. I still like Facing the Animal.

always some talentless people ready to bash some people with actual talent. and just because some people play slow doesn't mean they have feeling. and its good that people like Yngvie doesn waste their talent on writing simple pop/rock songs. and saying Yngvie sounds the same is plain stupid, and compared to what?? most popular music sounds the same over and over again.

Ok we know he is a good guitar player (even though he is not the only one), but he is copying himself again and again all these years just to make another "Malmsteen Album". At least if he had Tim "Ripper" Owens on the vocals he would make something more unique then his previous jobs.
