PETER CRISS Answers Questions, Sings At Chicago's 'Days Of The Dead' Horror Convention (Video) - Nov. 26, 2012
Original KISS drummer Peter Criss took part in a question-and-answer session at the the Days Of The Dead horror convention on November 17 at the Chicago-Schaumburg-Marriott in Schaumburg, Illinois. Video footage of his appearance — during which he took a question from ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante — can be seen below.

Criss' memoir, "Makeup To Breakup: My Life In And Out Of Kiss", landed at position No. 7 on the New York Times "Hardcover Nonfiction" best-sellers list. The book arrived on October 23 via the Simon & Schuster imprint Scribner.

An excerpt from "Makeup To Breakup: My Life In And Out Of Kiss", can be found at RollingStone.com.

Criss wrote the 320-page hardcover book with the help of Larry "Ratso" Sloman.

In a recent interview with "The Opie & Anthony Show", Criss revealed that a power struggle, with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley on one side, and Peter and Ace Frehley on the other, led to his departure from KISS. "I could start feeling [Stanley and Simmons] wanting the power," he said. "The more we were going up the ladder of future and fame, the more it was kind of swaying to Mr. Simmons and Stanley. Ace and I were kind of not getting our musical [ideas] in. It's funny — I wrote the biggest hit the band [ever had] [the 1976 ballad 'Beth'], and meanwhile, I was kind of always getting put down for this stuff. So it was always a battle."

According to Criss, he and Frehley were extremely close, which is why it was especially hurtful for the drummer to learn that Frehley was making more money when the farewell tour ended in 2000. "[It] broke my heart when [Ace] broke my heart," he said. "In the book, I tell the story, but towards the reunion, towards the end, I was devastated, man. I couldn't believe what went on. And it was again about the old M-O-N-E-Y. Money, money, money. Power, power, power. It never was enough for those guys."

As previously reported, Criss will guest on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" with host Bob Coburn on Wednesday, December 19 at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET. Fans are encouraged to speak with Criss by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). The show will be streamed on the "Rockline" web site for two weeks beginning the afternoon after the live broadcast.

So Bob Ezrin orchestrated, edited, re-arranged and produced a song he co-wrote before KISS and then because of Gene and Paul all of his solo albums, where he could really show everyone what a true hit-maker he was were terrible and failed. That must have been because Gene and Paul are greedy. Yup, that makes sense.

everyone else, I still don't understand why he would be pissed at Ace for making more money. In reality Ace had done a lot more with his solo career than Peter. It wasn't even close. But still how does that figure. I love and miss Peter but he did leave Kiss. If you want the fame and fortune sometimes you gotta suck it up. And he was resurrected from the dead.

I always loved the brief version of the band right after Eric Carr joined. Ace was still there, and they were still wearing the make up and cool costumes. Then Gene-ious came up with The Elder. While a pretty cool album, it shouldn't have been a KISS album. Love the "new" tracks on the Killers album even though it wasn't Ace playing...

Point being, I'll take Eric Carr over Peter.

After reading his book,i found him to be an egomaniac. And once he got rich instead of bettering himself he lived the RnR lifestyle, and blamed everyone else for his stupidity. If he did not like the money all he had to do was pass on the reunion, you can bet your ass Stanley/Simmons would have paid up,they knew it was now or never.

As much as Paul and Gene are 2 of the biggest piles of shit alive, at least they work and are active.

Hey Peter, whatcha been up to?

Ah just signing autographs for a living now. Ripping my fans off for $50 a signature is easy work. I only made 10 songs in 30 years cause I shit my pants. It's actually quite lame.

Peter's book was great. Gene's book sucked. I saw "Monster" in a bin for $5.99 on black Friday, but I won't buy it.

Don't let $immon$ hear that. He'll run down to that store and steal the $5.99

Peter sounds a little bitter here though.

You know you've arrived when you're billed on an event just above Thomas Ian Nicholas. No more stinkin festivals and puppet shows for Peter.

I was there and met Peter. Seems like a genuinely nice and appreciative guy (at least for the $50 I gave him)....in 2012 (They wanted another $10 for a picture with him-I passed on that).

I highly doubt he'd give 95% of the people that waited in his line over 3 hours that time of day if it were say, the good 'ol days when he was raking in cash as the drummer in KISS.

His wife sure loved checking items over and counting and re-counting the cash that her husband was making. I wanted to ask if he'd be claiming this as income or not so much, since it was all cash sales.
