VIRUS: New Song Available For Streaming - Nov. 14, 2012
"Inverted Escape", a brand new song from Norway's avant-garde metallers VIRUS, can be streamed below. The track comes off the band's upcoming mini-CD, "Oblivion Clock", which will be released to coincide with their upcoming European tour alongside VULTURE INDUSTRIES, KRAKOW and MONDVOLLAND in December.

Formed in 2000 by guitarist and frontman Carl-Michael "Czral" Eide (AURA NOIR, ULVER, SATYRICON, DØDHEIMSGARD, CADAVER), along with bass player Petter "Plenum" Berntsen (AUDIOPAIN) and drummer Einar "Einz" Sjursø (LAMENTED SOULS, INFERNÖ, BEYOND DAWN), VIRUS takes the original elements of Czral's former avant-garde black metal band VED BUENS ENDE and channels them towards a weirder and less metal direction. Czral's unique dissonant guitar style and song writing has ensnared listeners the world over. Listeners who have found themselves at times times puzzled, but always fascinated, by the band's three critically acclaimed albums and live performances (as a five-piece).

Awesome band. Make yourself a favor if you're into Voivod or Scott Walker.

This is odd. But really interesting. Reminds me of an old Hitchcock-type movie... Not scary, really, just a bit disturbing and strange enough to keep your attention to see [hear] what happens next.

This is why I come to Blabbermouth: to find bands I've never heard that sound different. Well, that and trolling the shitty bands' posts.

Anyhoo, I'm hitting YouTube now and maybe an online CD merchant afterward.

Kinda reminded me of the awesome norwegian bands Winds/Age Of Silence and that's a compliment! We're fucking good at avantgarde up here in the cold north
