RUSH: Super Audio CD Edition Of 'Counterparts' Due Next Month - Nov. 13, 2012
According to the RUSH fan site RushIsABand.com, Audio Fidelity will release an SACD (Super Audio CD) version of RUSH's 1993 album "Counterparts" in December, as well as an SACD of YES' "Close To The Edge" LP. These will be the company's first SACD releases in over 10 years.

"Counterparts" is RUSH's fifteenth studio album. It became the band's highest-charting album in the U.S., peaking at No. 2 on The Billboard 200.

The lyrics of "Counterparts" continue the trends of "Roll The Bones", with dark and emotional themes being the primary focus. Some songs are "heavy"-sounding tracks like "Animate" and "Stick it Out", which topped the Mainstream Rock Tracks for four weeks in late 1993, becoming the band's fifth single to do so. "Leave That Thing Alone" earned a Grammy nomination for "Best Instrumental".

Garbage. Audio Fidelity is crap.

I love the record, but I don't want a third party putting out a subpar version of this outstanding record.

"Leave That Thing Alone" is a kickass jam, but it ain't no YYZ. To me, the best albums included and were between Permanent Waves and Grace Under Pressure.

Are between Rush and Clockwork Angels. The best instrumental is 'La Villa Strangiato'. Counterparts is a great album, my favorite 90's album from them. Highlights include 'Animate', 'Stick It Out', 'Nobody's Hero', 'Between Sun & Moon', 'Leave That Thing Alone' and 'Cold Fire'.

Wasn't that album basically "Rush does grunge"? Or more specifically "Rush does the Rush of grunge (aka Soundgarden)"?

This was the last great Rush album, IMO. I haven't cared for anything they've done since Counterparts...

I remember buying that album (along with Vs. from Pearl Jam) at a midnight sale in college.

Counterparts has some great tunes, but I prefer T4E.

Ok, guys, now how about a proper master of Vapor Trails? Ya know, without everything squished, slammed to the top & lacking any dynamics. Some great tunes on that one, but almost unlistenable for strictly sonic reasons.
