"Apocalyptic Love", came out in May and was recently certified gold in Australia by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for sales in excess of 35,000 copies.

"[The album has] been really well received and I was really pleased with the record in the first place; it's great," Slash said. "You never know what exactly is going to happen and I never have any what you'd call expectations, but once it's out there and people sort of dig it for the right reasons, it's always a good feeling."

Slash recently revealed that he and singer Myles Kennedy have already begun working on music for the guitarist's next album, to be recorded sometime next year.

"We are working on material, gathering ideas for another [record] at this point," Slash told Rapid City Journal. "We are sort of like in those early stages where I'm just recording different guitar ideas and I turn Myles on to it. He's thinking about his stuff and what he's going to do with it and so on."

Wow so you did the same with this album as you did the last album? Rip off fans by releasing a better version of the album 6 months down the track.

Man, this is just like his first record, he put out his album, as well as a deluxe edition, and most fans pay the extra few bucks and buy the deluxe edition, then a few months after, when all the big fans have the record, he puts out a new 3 disc version, so if you want all the new content, you have to fork over ANOTHER $30 and buy it a second time.
Total cashgrab.

Wonder how the fanboys feel about their hero Hakk slash.
First they buy the regular CD (in many cases first day no less) and now their hero releases the same album with lots and lots of goodies for 2 bucks more.
I'm happy I'm not one of the unlucky bastards that feel cheated or even pay up more of their hard earned dollars/euros for the same stuff.

I won't say:
FUKK HAKK SLASH, MUFFMEISTER MCLOAD, JUNKIE ADLER & ASSKISSER RIOTACT.

Xhole=GNR!!!
Xhole=GOD!!!

But fanboys, you gotta admit, this is a pretty low blow.

For forcing Slash to remove all of the GNR tracks from the NYC DVD. Such a disappointment! I'll stick with the 720p uncut capture of the NYC Webstream and pass on the deluxe edition of Apocalyptic Love.

the frustration with having to buy the album again to get the extras, so it would have been nice to instead offer something else, or just drop the price and exclude the actual album.

That being said, you guys need to chill out with calling everything a cash grab. In your job wouldn't you do whatever you could to bring home extra money?

The music business isn't the most lucrative these days so cut these guys a break.

Saw Slash in New Orleans when they came through and they killed it.

I knew a version (such as this) would be released before Christmas - I held off on buying the album in anticipation of this.

Far out - I win.

Thanks for the solid album Slash and Myles and the Conspirators, but I don't think I feel like buying this twice. Even though that 3 disc look pretty good.

This is all from the record company. You think Slash is fronting the coin for this? How many different ways has Dark Side of the Moon been released? One of which was a 24K disc. You believe Roger is sitting wondering how he can drain more coin from that album? And NO, I'm not comparing Slash to Floyd. Just using it as an example. The record company is going to milk the GnR teet as long as they can. So is Axl for that matter. Just don't buy it. Like Bob Seger says, "You just don't need it all."

its the record companies fault. Money from wherever they can get it. To all the people who thumbed me down. Perla? I dont give a flying f.....what anyone thinks,Slash's newer band does not compare to Velvet Revolver. Yes the band is killer, and Myles is an excellent vocalist in his own right. But Velvet Revolver was a bad, bad bunch of boys. Slash took the easy way out after trying to replace Weiland and stuck with Myles who is alot easier to deal with. The Slash band just doesnt have any moxy. its too damn safe. I suspect im gonna lose this one but id like to see some more Velvet Revolver.

I didn't like the music on the standard edition, so I'm not gonna go forking over any cash for the same album simply for the extras, which simply feature YET MORE live content of a relatively unchanging setlist, and some presumably boring, unimaginative acoustic versions of the slower songs from Slash's catalogue.

"Apocalyptic Love" is the best rock album to be released in the last 5 years (I said ROCK NOT METAL).

....and it's the record company that's releasing this, not Slash.
