SUICIDE SILENCE Frontman Laid To Rest - Nov. 8, 2012
A funeral service was held earlier today (Thursday, November 8) for SUICIDE SILENCE singer Mitch Lucker, who died November 1, after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach on Halloween night. The ceremony was attended by family and friends, including SUICIDE SILENCE bassist Dan Kenny, who tweeted afterwards, "Had to bury my brother today, he looked peaceful when I saw him. It was very hard but it was needed! To the fans just know Mitch loved yall" Also present at the event was Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen, who tweeted a picture of the funeral program (see below).

SUICIDE SILENCE has launched a memorial fund to provide assistance to Lucker's family. All proceeds donated to the official Mitch Lucker Memorial Fund will go towards the education of the singer's five-year-old daughter Kenadee Lucker. Those who donate $20 or more will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

Those who donate $20 or more should include their name, shipping address and t-shirt size (S-4XL) in the comment box at the time of donation. Those who pledge $5 or more should include their full name at the time of donation so the band can add it to the tribute a page coming soon on the band's web site.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lucker struck a light pole near the intersection of Main and 13th streets and was thrown from his 2013 Harley Davidson. The motorcycle continued sliding south on Main Street and struck a northbound 2007 Nissan Titan pickup.

Lucker, who was treated at the scene by paramedics, died shortly after 6 a.m. at UC Irvine Medical Center.

Some of the singer's friends gathered last Thursday night in Riverside, California, where the 28-year-old grew up, to celebrate his life. A separate vigil was held at the crash site in Huntington Beach that was attended by fans as well as some of Mitch's family members, including his wife of two years, Jolie, and his daughter.

I know, many people have been slamming the guy for being selfish and all, I'm almost sure that there's a lot more to this story than what his not-so-affected wife has told.

Anyway, the guy is now dead, R.I.P

NEVER drink and drive.

A daughter has no father now because of one stupid decision to get on his bike while impaired. That's the unthinkable tragedy here.

I just shake my head at the whole thing. If nothing else, just positive thoughts for daughter and yes I still despise this band.

While I understand the hatred and resentment of this man dying, put yourself in the place of his family. If your father or husband got in an alcohol related accident and died would you be saying "he was a shitty human being"?

I'm not a fan of SS but a PERSON died here. Yes it may have been due to his actions but, if anything, show some respect for the family members left behind. They are going through a hard time right now and need support, not idiot commentary.

Went out like a legend???? WTF? Went out like a douchebag unfortunately. What a horrible fucking band. I saw them a couple of years ago and spent 45 minutes wanting to punch that guy in the throat.

I don't know how some people are surprised everyone is slamming this dude even while he is being buried. Ya think it has to do with him getting props for going out "like a legend"? Lets see, first he himself said the most important thing he wanted was to be there to raise his kid, and then tweets he would "rather die at 95". Then only a few days later makes sure that comes true. He ignored his own wife who PLEADED with him not to get on the bike. Not only did he kill himself, he recklessly endangered others. What if pedestrians were standing at the corner of that intersection and were killed by his flying bike? Would that be "legend" too dude? "Live life hard"? No Ash. Died like retard.

bring the hate, i was just wondering what other shithead moves he may have done other than ride his bike into a pole and risk killing innocent people.
maybe one dosent need to do much more than that to have widespread hatred.
to his defense tho, he could have been trying to ride to the top of the pole to see where all the trick or treaters were.....
dont stop the hate, makes more of an interesting thread.

I think if there's one thing to be learned from this whole thing it's "Don't be a douchebag". Thank you Mitch for teaching us all this valuable lesson. You will not be forgotten!

...until next week.

He was a dipshit in an extremely shitty band. Why do people act like he was a "legend" all of a sudden? SS had no musical value and I hope that this is their end.

Funny thing is when Suicide Silence came out in 2006, all you losers were sweating their nuts, and because they got a little bit of fame, now you have to be the elitist douchebags talking shit.

Mitch had a loving family, a band that toured around the world and legions of fans, meanwhile you dorks just dwell in your basements playing with your pud bashing someone else because you're so kvlt, give me a break. I love metal and have been listening for the past 15 years and always will, but I'll always hate the dipshit elitist fans that come with it like the trolls on here, get a life and go outside.

Sorry to burst your bubble bro, but I hated SS since the second I heard them. Thought they were a bunch of emo/screamo posers then and I still do now.
