KORN To Reunite With Guitarist HEAD For Two German Shows Next Summer - Nov. 8, 2012
KORN will reunite with former guitarist Brian "Head" Welch for two shows at next year's edition of the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals, set to take place June 7-9, 2013 in the German towns of Nürburgring and Nürnberg, respectively.

KORN posted the following statement on its official Facebook page: "Head returns as a special guest to play two full shows with KORN for the first time since 2004. 'Like' if you want to see KORN live with all five members and discuss [at the official forum at Korn.com]."

KORN was joined onstage by Welch on May 5 at the Carolina Rebellion festival in Rockingham, North Carolina, marking the first time in seven years that KORN played with Welch, who left the group in 2005.

KORN has released multi-camera video footage of the reunion, which electrified KORN fans everywhere and has naturally sparked talk of a full reunion with Welch to record and tour. Check it out below.

In an interview with The Pulse Of Radio, KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer said that the band isn't rushing into anything. "The whole thing needs to be approached very delicately, because it's such a fragile thing," he said. "It's just something that has to be super well-planned and it has to come naturally. And our experience with him [at Carolina Rebellion] has all started from a positive place, and it wasn't forced and it was just natural. So I think if everything optimistically runs like that, that's all I can hope for. I'm really happy just to reconnect with my old friend."

Welch joined the band onstage to perform its classic song "Blind". According to The Pulse Of Radio, Shaffer later said that the reunion was the first contact he had with Welch since his former bandmate left the KORN lineup.

Welch is currently on the road with his new band, LOVE AND DEATH, which will release its debut album, "Between Here & Lost", on November 20 via Tooth & Nail Records.

Not only the fact that Head is doing these shows & that it could lead to a reunion, but more than that - that they're doing it as friends,....for friendship - not for money or any other corporate motive. This seems genuine & real. If it wasnt I dont think Head would be doing it,....

The word reunion is so overrated and useless.....if Head comes back it will be the best version of KoRn!

Fieldy himself said that he waited his whole career for KoRn to sound like they did on that KoRn III album when they got Ray. Silveria walked away from the band and has been talking shit about them ever since because they said no when he came crawling back. Guess the restaurant business didn't do as well as he hoped. They're better without him.

I'm just so fucking pleased about all this. I've never massively been into Korn, but I think that people will look back on the stagnant early 90s of metal, when Pantera, Carcass, Mayhem and Emperor were really holding the fort against the addled has-beens of the 80s, and Korn's name will pop out as one of the few bands who gave the scene real shock therapy, did something really new and dragged metal into the future. Looking back, their first four albums absolutely kill, and it's great to see an ageing band look 20 again.^^

Has anyone heard what Head has been doing? His shit actually is fucking heavy and is clearly the sound Korn is missing. Definitely the pioneer of the early Korn sound.

THIS will be a show I will want to see. Hopefully he's on the next album - it might be an album that sounds like Korn again.

Fucking great news.

Korn has bee fine without him. Korn 3 and TPOT kicked ass. Yes I would rather Korn have head back But I hate all morons who act like they haven't done anything good w/o him.

Let's Bring Back David As well, sure ray is doing an amazing job but he's not the original member who helped bring korn to the masses. O created a little tribute/Petition video for David to return for these 2013 shows! Please check it out and spread the word we want the whole band back! not 4/5!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhO5r175rU4&feature=youtu.be

These are good news, however this is not the original lineup since David Silvera is not joining the band. That said I strongly doubt he will do it....it seems he completely gave up making music and he even sold his drums..:-(

This new drummer is really killer. That was a really good live recording, fucking tight. Not sure i've ever heard korn sound this well polished.

Korn will always have a really special place in my heart.

The original drummer would have probably been the only person i would have replaced, were it my call to make.

I'm a first four albume fan too.

I also wonder how they could put up with Silveria all those years while many disliked the guy in the first place.

David Silveria was a great drummer and was very likable during his time with Korn. When he came out last year dissing Korn on their biggest fan site like an overgrown school kid, all the fans lost respect for him and cemented Ray Luziers future with the band. I think fans were really shocked when the keyboard warrior himself posted a picture holding a banner of the website in question, showcasing it was him doing the lashing out.

The band were in ruins just before David left and it appears he left a lot of bitterness behind him that is only coming out now. From my own personal experience with David Silveria, I wrote something on his new bands "Infinika" YouTube page saying that they were awful and got a heated private mail from him throwing insults at me.

I think David is going through a tough time at the moment because he was very private during his time with Korn and I think now hes hit some sort of mid life crisis where he wants to hit out at his old band and as a result some of its biggest fans. When he started going on about f**king Jonathan Davis's wife in a Korn Chatroom, I lost all respect for him.

Ray Luzier is one of my favorite drummers
but
his rendition of korn songs give me a headache.

They need to reunite with David too, but David needs to stop doing coke and eating junk food

Ray Luzier has not had a chance to proove himself over David Silveria. That is why most people still want David back.

I think the fact that Ray has been pooly represented on the last two Korn albums is much to blame. On Remember who you are his work was dictated by producer Ross Robinson and on The Path of Totality he was practically non existant.

Ray is a very different drummer to David but aside from the fact that he is technically better and maybe less groove orientated, he joined the band during a time when nu metal was dead and that focus around a hip hop style way off playing and tuning your kit like a dust-bin lid had died away. It is evident that many fans still miss that sound and too many associate it with David Silveria when in actual fact it was mostly based around a trend at the time and how they wrote songs.

If people look at videos of Davids new band he no longer plays drums in this hip-hop style and gone is the snappy snare sound we always associated with his earlier work.

I personally think if David was back in Korn next week he wouldnt deliver the same playing technique people associate him with. Not only did it die away in the 90's but Korn are a completely different live band now and nothing will ever be like it was back in the early days, no matter who is playing drums for the band.

Respect and agree with everything you have said. Being a drummer, and a huge fan of early Korn, I thought what was mentioned on KS was pretty low by David. Ray has also been pretty humble to fans etc.

There's gotta be a transcript of that chat with David on KS somewhere online?

Can't find a transcript of Silveria's comments on KornSpace because now it's gone, but like user niallosul said he's being disrespectful to the band and the fans and that pretty much kills any chance of a reunion.

According to Yelp, his restaurant closed so he was obviously looking for a payout but after trashing the guys and the fans, I'd say he's out of luck now.
