AEROSMITH's 'Music From Another Dimension!' Projected To Sell 70K-80K First Week - Nov. 8, 2012
"Music From Another Dimension!", the 15th studio album and the first studio collection of all-new material in 11 years from AEROSMITH — Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) — is likely to sell between 70,000 and 80,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on November 6 via Columbia Records.

"Music From Another Dimension!" was recorded in Los Angeles and at the band's studio in Massachusetts; it was produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, with the exception of three tracks produced by Tyler and Marti Frederiksen.

"Music From Another Dimension!" features 15 new tracks, including two songs that audiences in North America were treated to on the first leg of the band's triumphant, sold-out "Global Warming Tour". The CD presents AEROSMITH in ferociously fine form and at the peak of their powers. They're the only band of their stature with all-original members and who are playing better than ever have before. The album abounds with one highlight after another, including "Out Go The Lights", "Oh Yeah", "Luv XXX", "We All Fall Down", "Street Jesus" and "Can't Stop Loving You", on which Tyler duets with Carrie Underwood. The album also includes "Freedom Fighter", which features Johnny Depp on backing vocals.

A deluxe version of "Music From Another Dimension!" includes:

* Four live performance videos: "Rats In The Cellar", "Train Kept A Rollin'", "Oh Yeah" and "Same Old Song and Dance"

* Exclusive interviews with the members of AEROSMITH bandmembers

* Three exclusive new bonus tracks: "Up On A Mountain", "Oasis" and "Sunny Side of Love"

The "Music From Another Dimension!" track listing is as follows:

01. Luv XXX
02. Oh Yeah
03. Beautiful
04. Tell Me
05. Out Go The Lights
06. Legendary Child
07. What Could Have Been Love
08. Street Jesus
09. Can't Stop Loving You
10. Lover A Lot
11. We All Fall Down
12. Freedom Fighter
13. Closer
14. Something
15. Another Last Goodbye

"Legendary Child" video:

I’m an Aerosmith fan. Got the album. Disappointed. There is a spark of greatness on the album and then the ballads kick in and the joe perry trax are a bit throwaway. Theres some great tunes there LUV XXX and Loveralot etc but fuck man make it balls to the wall bluesy rock n roll from start to finish and reestablish yourself as a kickass band. It really fucks me off because these cunts are a great act and then they have to write this schmaltzy quasi country bull shit with Diane Warren choruses.

right on...and LUVXXX is a very good tune. Wish they kept that thread of creativity...that Joe Perry song is just awful. Not a sellout, but goes nowhere.

Meanwhile, Geoff Taint's new solo cd will sell about 1500 copies, maybe.

If it does Geoff will still blame his former band members about that somehow.

I seem to recall a certain "cartoon" band that the Aerosmith guys seem to dislike selling about the same number of units their first week out. That has to sting a little....

1,500 for Tate are normal sales, it would be more then the last Rob Halford cd.

What kind of retarded math are you using? 1,500 isn't more than 3,100 (the number Halford's last CD opened with).

Both figures are weak but come on, man.

looks like rush is the big sales winner this year, they sold a third more than aeroshit and nearly twice as much as kiss. All without being money grubbing cartoon characters or a bunch of former pussy junkies who are'nt worth a shit these days and never really were that fuckin great. And they think they are the heir apparent to zeppelin, of course joe elliot think the same thing about his band and he is just as out of touch.

Aerosmith could open up for Justin Bieber in 2013.

And from the look of that album cover, the only "cartoon" band is Aerosmith.

LOL. Now THAT would be something, but I seem to remember them on a super bowl halftime show with britney spears and justin timberlake. To me, THAT was their 'jump the shark' moment.
But this'll sell a boatload of copies, just not to me. Can you belive these are the same guys who did "Nobody's Fault'?
Hard to believe now....

you failed to mention the musical integrity, and quality. Rush never did became a 2nd rate hair metal band.

though they did do some watered down stuff in the 80s(big money, time stands still).

I wouldn't hang my hat on anything KiSS has done post 1978.

There's some good stuff on it. It's not a home run like Van Halen, Rush, and Accept - but it's not a strike out either. A single up the middle maybe...

Diane Warren AGAIN????
Don't comment on other bands as "cartoons" when you can't produce a good album from start to finish. Kiss and Rush stayed true to form with their latest releases. Aerosmith's sounds disfunctional and scattered. Hands down, the worst album they have ever made! If you need an outside ballad writer (AGAIN) after 11 years, call it a day.

first week sales people are clamouring about? I'm not behind this new Aerosmith, but if you are puffing your chest out about KiSS's first week sales, seems the rug gets pulled out soon after. if you're in the band, are you more concerned with the first week sales, or maybe the yearly sales? No brainer.

Aerosmith has far great record sales potential than KiSS. or Van Halen. Doesn't mean its better or worse(well), but Aerosmith will indeed have a few fluff Pop radio hits that will help the CD sell to housewifes, and despite selling less than KiSS in week one, it will out sell it over all. But keep shouting it out loud about KiSS's first week! pretty flimsy argument...

again, not a good thing Aerosmith is pop, I'd rather listen to the new VH, but we're talking sales. RocknRoll Returns is more concerned with sales than the actually music...I'm sure you can mention KiSS sells more coffins and KiSS driveway sealant though! there you go!

talk to me after Aerosmith releases the hit with Carrie Underwood. It will out sell KiSS. again, you get my point, not talking quality, but Monster will run out of gas. only the hard core KiSS fans are buying that.

I've heard it from start to finish and I sincerely wish I hadn't bothered. Honkin' on Bobo should have been the final release and they could have bowed out gracefully with some dignity.

The new album sounds sterile and clinical and it's obvious they phoned this one in. But then again, I had no expectations from Aerosmith to begin with ever since Steven became an Idol judge.

KISS wins,

After all the talk and promo they didn't do well and can't be happy. Yes they will sell more than KISS, but new KISS isn't played on the radio. Radio sucks and the new Aeroshit will be all over it. KISS>Aerosmith

Those numbers are nothing but weak, but it will sell more than Monster all over the world though i reckon. No big accomplishment but hey. Monster sold just over 30K all over the world last week(third week), and will soon stop entirely. Wow it was just four years ago since AC/DC sold 784K the first week of Black Ice in the US alone. Aerosmith and KISS are really midgets on their own market and elsewhere aswell. AC/DC rules the world, and this proves it!!
