SUICIDE SILENCE Warns Of Bootleg MITCH LUCKER Memorial T-Shirts - Nov. 5, 2012
California metallers SUICIDE SILENCE have asked their fans to refrain from purchasing bootleg merchandise to honor the band's singer Mitch Lucker, who died Thursday, November 1, after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach on Halloween night.

An official t-shirt and memorial fund is being set up and will be announced this week.

"We appreciate everyone trying to help out, but there is no existing fund at this time. Please check back here for official updates," the group wrote on its Facebook page.

The band added in a separate posting, "Please do not purchase any bootleg RIP shirts from eBay or other online stores. We want to ensure that those of you who wish to make such purchases will have your money going to the right place and that you'll receive a quality commemorative product. An official t-shirt and donation fund will be surfacing this week and nothing officially connected to the cause currently exists. Please continue to check this page to keep informed."

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lucker struck a light pole near the intersection of Main and 13th streets and was thrown from his 2013 Harley Davidson. The motorcycle continued sliding south on Main Street and struck a northbound 2007 Nissan Titan pickup.

Lucker, who was treated at the scene by paramedics, died shortly after 6 a.m. at UC Irvine Medical Center.

Some of the singer's friends gathered Thursday night in Riverside, California, where the 28-year-old grew up, to celebrate his life. A separate vigil was held at the crash site in Huntington Beach that was attended by fans as well as some of Mitch's family members, including his wife of two years, Jolie, and his five-year-old daughter, Kenadee.

it seems kind of wrong to merchandise and profit off your band members death, just saying.

this has been discussed to death already...all proceeds are going towards his wife and kid, hence why they want you to buy from them. I seriously doubt the "fans" selling bootlegs stuff on eBay intend to donate all that money to his family like the band does...

It's sad when the fans are the ones who took the time to make the shirts first.

Who the fuck are they to say its wrong to make and purchase those shirts?

He's a human being and he's going to be missed by some people and everyone does this all the time when someone passes.

But no, the band wants to make their own fund.

It's sad that the singer died but after reading about what led up to the accident, I couldn't give a sh*t anymore.

Where can I buy a shirt that says...

I'd Rather Die Riding 95 Than Live A Life Full Of Nothing But Filthy Lies!

...in big bold letters?

This happens whenever anyone dies who is even remotely "known". Just hit up ebay within hours of someone's death and everyone is lining up to cash in. Nothing new here.

Morn the death of our friend, but only by buying this official memorial shirt.

While you're at it, buy a Dio glass, or buy a Nirvana CD.

I know nothing about this band, but it's my understanding that this guy was drinking heavily right before the accident. I have no sympathy for this man, because I know far too many people who have had their lives ruined by drunk drivers. The fact that he was on a motorcycle and not a car doesn't make it any less dangerous for others who may have been on the road with him. I knew of a girl who was stopped at a red light in her car late one night and some drunk asshole on a motorcycle slammed into the back of her car going 85 mph. Her back was broken and has not been able to walk since. As insensitive as it sounds, this man's death, may have saved someone's life a little further down the road.
