AEROSMITH Performs On 'Late Show With David Letterman' (Video) - Nov. 1, 2012
AEROSMITH performed earlier tonight (Thursday, November 1) on the CBS talk show "Late Show With David Letterman". You can now watch video footage of the band's appearance below. Also available is an interview with singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry.

AEROSMITH will complete their contract with Columbia Records on November 6 with the release of the band's new album, "Music From Another Dimension", and the group may join the ranks of acts like RADIOHEAD, NINE INCH NAILS and PEARL JAM who have left the major label world behind.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Tyler told reporters on a conference call last month that "if the band stays together, yeah, we'll definitely go that route, something somewhere over there. We've been keeping record companies stocked with millions of shekels for years, been making a lot of people rich — not that we haven't, but every now and then you get into arguments with labels (and) you think, 'Where is all this money going?' We've definitely thought of putting stuff out."

Perry was more cautious about the idea, however, saying, "We've talked about every idea you can think of out there, and we really don't know. There's so many different directions we can go."

"Music From Another Dimension" is AEROSMITH's first album of all-new material in 11 years, although three singles released so far from the disc — "Legendary Child", "What Could Have Been Love" and "Lover Alot" — have failed to catch fire at radio stations.

The band will begin a new leg of touring on November 8 in Oklahoma City, and plans to follow that with a world tour in 2013. Beyond that, Tyler plans to record a full solo album next year as well, while Perry will become the third member of the band, after Tyler and drummer Joey Kramer, to publish his autobiography.

Mr. P Chop, good stuff as usual. The crisp Canadian Air is doing you right.

One WaySt, one of my all time favs. they have so many great deep cuts.
Somebody, SOS, (I like Lord of the Thighs on Bootleg better than the studio one), Uncle Salty, Combination, Get it up, Chiquitta, Joanies Butterfly...I wouldn't put Shame on You as the article alluded to, sort of a clunker to me...My Fist your Face from that one. Good clip anyhow.

what happend to that band? I think I've heard all the new songs now either on RollingStone, or on here, its abysmal. The joe perry song, Freedom Fighter, while not a sappy sellout ,is just lame. Its like an outtake from one of his solo albums. goes no where. all things must pass I guess.

that live clip is the sound Jack Douglas SHOULD have captured in the studio. Far more rippin'. Raw. How ASmith was and should be. The guitars had some balls...they still have some game, to me, its being wasted on too many pop songs, or over production of the rock songs. Loses the groove.

Has become so soft I wipe my ass with them now. Seriously, look back to "Get your wings", "Rocks", "Toys in the attic", Draw the line", "Night in the Ruts", "Live Bootleg", (man I played the shit out of Live bootleg), this time period where THEY wrote their albums and didn't worry about a top 40 hit, this was their Legacy. "Get a grip", "Pump" had their moments, I actually liked "Cryin" from "Get a grip". Now, I count 6 fucking ballads on this cd, fucking 6. How bad do they want a top 40 hit is laughable. Having outside songwriters like that swedish pussy Marti Fredrickson is a joke. I remember back when he wrote some tunes for Def Leppards album, all ballads and not even good ballads. But I digress, back to subject matter. Bringing Jack Douglas back into the fold to produce the cd was a big ruse. An illusion of smokescreens and mirrors to get fans excited that we were going to get a 70's vibe, no outside bullshit, straight ass kicking Aerosmith. As you see and hear, we as fans, are shitted on yet again. At least Kiss with "Monster" had the BALLS to put out a straight forward, in your face, Rock n Roll cd with NO fucking ballads! I think I've made my point, now I'm going to go take some kids swimming and wipe my ass with Aeroshit, soft ass motherfuckers!

Agreed...

I miss the Aerosmith of the 1970s. 'Rocks', 'Get Your Wings', 'Toys in the Attic', etc...

The amount of ballads on the new album is ridiculous. I'm not trying to sound like a bitter/grumpy fan...but they're no longer a rock band. They've lost who they are and have for a long time, probably since 1980. The albums you mentioned have their moments, but it's a far cry.

You're right about KISS - at least they still do hard rock and make it a point to NOT do ballads. 'Monster' kicks ass and I say this as a bigger Aerosmith fan. 'Monster' is one of KISS' best albums in my opinion. 'Van Halen' and 'Rush' also did albums this year that blew me away. Gotta give kudos to these bands for trying hard and sticking to their roots.

Aerosmith, please take note...I'd love to see you rock again. A good start would be to be rock and roll again.

-A sincere fan.
