GLENN HUGHES Talks RONNIE JAMES DIO, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, 'Re-Machined' CD (Video) - Nov. 1, 2012
Eric Blair of "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show" conducted an interview with legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE, BLACK SABBATH, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION) at the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund's second awards gala, which was held last night (Wednesday, October 31) at the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, California. You can watch video footage of the chat below.

Hughes joined surviving HEAVEN & HELL members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice when they played a very special tribute to their fallen bandmate, Ronnie James Dio, on July 24, 2010 at the High Voltage festival at Victoria Park in London, England. Also appearing with the musicians was Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande, who sings for power metallers MASTERPLAN and released his own tribute to Ronnie.

I *really* don't get the appeal of this guy.

Sounds like a fey Ian Gillan impersonator.

He's like this legndary "Also Ran" that won't go away, scratching at the frayed ends of the Rock N Roll fame rope, clinging for life.

The ONLY cred he gets from me is that Iommi seems to have a raging boner for him that won't go refractory...so there must be something worthwhile there...I just don't know what it is.

Deep down, Iommi seems to wish he was Deep Purple.

Its true that sometimes he makes DAVE MUSTAINE look like a real great guy you wanna hang out with but that doesnt mean that THE VOICE OF ROCK isn't a marvelous singer.......his main talent is indeed HIS INCREDIBLE VOICE

Piss off Glenn. I thought BCC was decent until you all turned into a bunch of whiny pussies. And your bass playing sucks, the "farty" distortion was cool in 70's but not now, just like you...

I like Glen best when he just rocks. When he gets all funky he loses me. Lay My Body Down is my favorite song from him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxgQd_zam2s

Hughes is great. It's impossible to love absolutely everything he's done, but he's still one of the best. His live and studio version of Burn from around 1993, is in my opinion the best version of the song.
