BLACK SABBATH, SLIPKNOT Confirmed For Japan's OZZFEST - Oct. 31, 2012
BLACK SABBATH and SLIPKNOT have been confirme for the Japanese installment of Ozzy Osbourne's travelling festival, Ozzfest, set to take place May 11-12, 2013 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City (outside Tokyo).

"Ozzy and I want to tell you that May 2013 we will bringing Ozzfest to Japan for the first time ever," Osbourne's wife/manager Sharon said in a video announcement (see below). "We are so excited. Please be there because we love you Japan."

Ozzfest, which began in 1996, has not been a traveling festival since 2007's "free" edition. The show morphed into a one-off event in Dallas in 2008, also featuring METALLICA, before taking 2009 off.

The 2010 U.S. Ozzfest played in just six cities, with OZZY OSBOURNE co-headlining with MÖTLEY CRÜE and the rest of the main stage filled out by HALFORD, the solo band of JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford, along with DEVILDRIVER and NONPOINT.

The aging festival faced increased competition in recent years from the annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem tour, as well as the Uproar festival.

As cool as this is, I really hope this is the last time Black Sabbath and Ozzfest are ever mentioned together again. The Black Sabbath reuinion is so much bigger than yet another Ozzfest in a shitty sounding amphitheatre. How about a huge arena tour with a kick ass opening band and in an arena with good sound.

The Black Sabbath reuinion is so much bigger

Is it? Once they hired a scab drummer it became just another Sabbath line-up. IMO

FUCK not again.

Really despise seeing Black Sabbath in the same sentence as Ozzfest. Back to the first reunion again.

This sounds like a short reunion again. Ozzy's camp getting too involved in decisions.

^^Now that would be a good show. Hopefully Sharon isn't getting too involved with Sabbath these days or we're in trouble. Ozzfest was basically a joke ever since the start.
