ROBERT PLANT To Guest On New PRIMAL SCREAM Album - Oct. 29, 2012
LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant has recorded guest vocals for the new album from British modern rockers PRIMAL SCREAM, due in 2013.

Speaking to Mojo magazine, Plant said he wants to carry on singing, but doesn't want to start a new band or make a full album. He said: "Everything we did back in those days and everything I have done since has been based on a fresh approach. What's going on? What can I be as a singer that doesn't play much? That's how I see everything: what can I be a part of that's exciting? And if anybody's got any ideas, then I'm always up for it." He added: "I sang a bit on the PRIMAL's stuff because I think their references on looking back on the glorious past and the way they bring them into the contemporary world are fantastic."

Plant previously played harmonica on PRIMAL SCREAM's 2002 song "The Lord Is My Shotgun", which was featured on the band's "Evil Heat" album.

Do you think he KNOWS he can't sing anymore? Do you think he realizes that every note is a crack and he sounds like desert sand being run through a choked chicken neck? I'm really curious if he is self-aware and just pretending he's not so he can make more money, or if he's totally clueless and can't hear his own throat warblings.

Aside from LZ, the best solo album this guy ever did was Shaken & Stirred.

Have you listened to his other albums? Now And Zen is easily the best I think. But don't count out Mighty ReArranger or Band of Joy.

Great choice of a band to work with (again). Haven't heard their more recent albums, but Screamadelica is one of the best albums of the 90's.

I love pictures at eleven and anything else plant wants to sing or perform on.
he's not in it for the money and I have a great deal of respect for that these days when big bands such as Zeppelin are being offered reunion tours and paycheques of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Yet plant wants to keep making fresh stuff regardless of the genre.

That's a real musician

totally..and for the guy above that says "doesn't he know he cracks when he sings, he's lost it etc". yes, he does. exactly why HE stated he couldn't do Led Zep justice..and I totally respect that he likes to move forward, not live off the past...for an older rocker, I like some of his music better than most. He at least tries to move forward. Get good musicians around him.

^ well said. I have respect for Zep than any band I ever listen to.

At this point of his career, I'd rather hear him do something with Mumford and Sons since he's into that folk and shit..
