MACHINE HEAD: 'Imperium' Live Video Released - Oct. 23, 2012
San Francisco Bay Area metallers MACHINE HEAD have spent nearly two full decades establishing themselves as one of the best live acts in the hard rock and metal world, bringing venues and crowds to their knees night after night, for years at a stretch. Few, if any, of their peers can deliver the type of sweat-soaked, deafening and totally punishing live sets that the band delivers with near-religious fervor, in their native U.S. and across the globe.

That's why the band had to capture its live fury on tape…again. They'll be releasing "Machine Fucking Head Live" on November 13 via Roadrunner Records. It's their second live effort — "Hellalive" was released in 2003 — but in the nine years that have passed, the band has only gained in power; MACHINE HEAD still slay and administer a beating in the live realm.

"Machine Fucking Head Live" was recorded at various tour stops across the globe last year. It features songs from throughout the band's expansive catalog, including crowd favorites like "Imperium", "Aesthetics of Hate", "Locust", "Ten Ton Hammer", "This is the End" and "Halo".

"The Head Cases [MACHINE HEAD's nickname for the band's fans] have been so intense on this tour cycle that we had to start capturing the shows, especially with technology making it so much easier to record," said frontman Robb Flynn. "We culled some of the best nights where the band and crowd were on fire and made a badass, nearly two-hour, double live album, which is a great documentation of where the band is at, 18 years deep."

"Machine Fucking Head Live" track listing:

01. I Am Hell (Sonata in C#)
02. Be Still And Know
03. Imperium
04. Beautiful Mourning
05. The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears
06. Locust
07. This Is The End
08. Aesthetics Of Hate
09. Old
10. Darkness Within
11. Bulldozer
12. Ten Ton Hammer
13. Who We Are
14. Halo
15. Davidian

A performance clip of the song "Imperium", taken from "Machine Fucking Head Live", can be seen below.

"Machine Fucking Head Live" was mixed and mastered at Trident Studios in Pacheco, California by Juan Urteaga and Robb Flynn.

MACHINE HEAD will hit the road in North America with DETHKLOK, ALL THAT REMAINS and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER beginning October 30.

Concert DVD's pretty much suck nowadays. every 2 -5 seconds switch shots. The camera work is sloppy and lazzy. Fuck get this static shots that is all you need, and here is an idea keep a shot longer than 5 seconds, Nevermores DVD concert was completely ruined by ADD editing, this justs sucks its not ruined.

The maiden DVDs are the worst offenders of this editing.

Beautiful footage but unwatchable unless you wanna have a seizure.

I Luv Maiden, but I absolutely agree with Metal Hoops. Iron Maiden - Death On the Road is unwatchable.

Rob's guitar head stock changed a couple of times during that video. That tells me this is footage cut from multiple shows. Not a very good editing job if they can't keep the footage straight.

Very glad they didn't touch up Robb's vocals. Live and raw the way they should be.

lean towards death, black, grind etc. MH live is a fkn good time. Tell me who else out there commands an audience like Flynn? Not too many. Having seen Lamb O' God several times over the years, not even Saint Randy actually holds the crowd in the palm of his hand. Sure the crowd is aware of him and all, but the times I've seen MH, if Flynn wanted to cause a riot, his people would definitely do it for him. While they are not the biggest band, especially in the US, the people who never gave them a shot either live or on record are missing out.

That is one bad ass performance. I find Robb's cheerleading pretty annoying, but the band is on fire.

Don't like 'em? YOU'RE wrong.

Decent live band alright, but they've been bereft of any originality or soul since 1998...

Seen hem back in the day and recently - and ill tell you, i'd take slightly sloppier but more fiery 1995 Machine Head over this - just check out the Dynamo 1995 footage on youtube.

McClain is a superb drummer though, wasted in the band. hopefully they split soon and he gets some gigs worthy of his status.
