New JIMMY PAGE Music On The Way - Oct. 23, 2012
According to The Pulse Of Radio, Jimmy Page is working on new music, which might be released before the end of the year. During a chat with BBC Radio, Page said, "I'm just looking forward to making some music and surprising people with it. It won't be just teaming up with lots of people who are [big] names. I've got an idea of something which I've had for a long time and now's the time to do it."

Page remained ambiguous when talking about the still-unnamed project, saying: "I have got other ideas that have been nagging at me for a long long time, I think the way to present music is same picture different frame, and sometimes this frame is quite radical."

Page feels that the 2007 reunion gig setlist as featured in "Celebration Day" reflects the best of ZEPPELIN's back catalogue. "In the '70s when we were touring, y'know, the sets would be a reflection of what we had done in the past, and then what was there on that latest album," he said. "On this we had a chance to have a real retrospective of the career. That's why we arrived at the first number being 'Good Times Bad Times', which was the first track of the first album and then let's see what goes on from there. I think we made a pretty good choice right across the board in the time that we had. Y'know, we paid good attention to it and the pacing of the set was interesting, because with no warm-up gig, we had to get it right."

The last album to feature all new, mainstream Jimmy Page compositions was the 1998 PAGE AND PLANT collection, "Walking Into Clarksdale".

The album's lead single, "Most High", snagged the 1999 Grammy Award for "Best Hard Rock Performance".

You gotta wonder why this guy hasn't been making music and touring. Better late than never.

Even after I heard Plant didn't want anything to do with a full Led Zep reunion, tour, album, etc., I still wished Page, Jones, and Bonham Jr. started a new band, and recorded something with the 3 of them and a new vocalist.

it's time to make new music.
the last full album of new songs was Coverdale & Page if i'm not mistaken.

for a great musician, he's been quite lazy.

I think the Page/Plant, no?...Love Page, but I think the well sort of ran dry. Outrider was rubbish, the Firm's songs were ok, but more on the bland side...just my take on it. He still sounded great, edgy, on 2007 show.

I would love to hear another collaboration with David Coverdale. I absolutely loved that CD. I actually liked Coverdale/Page better than the Firm even though Paul Rodgers is one of my top 5 favorite singers

last album Page was involved in was Page/ Plant "Walking To Clarksdale" which surprisingly no one seemed to care about

i didn't think it was bad.....some pretty cool moments

however, I wasn't really into the whole Unledded thing they did without JPJ...

They totally fucked up my order for the limited ed "Lucifer" soundtrack. Packaged it in a smashed down cardboard box, got it bent to shit and they never offered a refund or replacement. Total amateur hour on that one.

This is great news. I will add that no musician has to put out music for the fans and it is not "lazy" as someone said above. Putting out sh^tty music is lazy. J. D. Salinger wrote for almost 4 decades after the last writings he released to the public. Clearly he didn't want any praise or feedback and wrote for himself. The fans should mind their business and let the artist decide what they want to release. No one owes you anything!

"Celebration Day" was so fantastic I almost hate to mention that if they had played "Immigrant Song" in the third encore it would have pushed us off the edge. Truth is we were there in the first 4 songs, it was that fantastic!

The main reason why Page wasn't the member of Led Z that made it really big following the breakup is heroin, I think.

I would recommend you to read Mick Wall's Led Z book. He's also a thief, the best and most skilled (music)thief of all time.

no. Its possible in the very early 80s, but he wasn't on Herion as the 80s went on. He claims he didn't pick up a guitar for a few years after Bonham's death. He did do a soundtrack for that Bronson movie.

He was in extremely bad shape early 1980. I also have a feeling the great Coverdale/Page union came to an early end for a reason.

"Walking into...." is great, I do really like that record, better than the Coverdale/Page one IMO. Great news, curious to hear how it turns out.

Jimmy Page is totally the man. However, nothing he's done since the end of Led Zeppelin has come close to the magic they had together. I found the Firm to be passable and the Page/Plant stuff was interesting. Liked the album with David Coverdale well enough and the Black Crowes collaboration was the coolest thing those guys were ever part of. Living up to the Led Zeppelin legacy is tough. I really don't think Robert Plant has been able to measure up either. His first two solo releases had moments that were close. His voice has remained. He's enjoyed success. But the post-Zep material is mostly generic commercial fodder. I will be looking forward to checking out anything Jimmy Page is a part of, but it's both unfair and unrealistic to expect another Physical Graffiti.

Page is the God's gift to rock and roll, not even a question, he inspired more musicians that anybody else including Hendrix. Jimmy is the coolest and most talented badass motherfucker the music world has even seen. Not a fake bone in his body, he's honest, he's gritty, he's diverse, he's the best. Also, one of the best, if not THE best, producers.

I saw Jimmy Page's solo band with a young Jason Bonham on drums in the late 1980s. They started playing Stairway to Heaven and Page just goes off on this tangent. The rest of the band tried to follow them but had to just stop. The other guys looked back at Bonham who just shrugged his shoulders. After a bit, he got back onto the song when someone came out and talked in his ear.

Personally, I was sure he was wasted. He was definitely not right that night.

Get real ^, you may be the only one expecting another Ph Graff (or anything close to LZ). Take Paul's advice and get a reality check! A couple songs with Rush would make my day, in the vein of High Water and TSRTSame, something that moves Not much into singers, so def. would like Page and Peart together...the 2 #1s!
