AC/DC Leads List Of Top Guitar Riffs Of The 1980s - Oct. 19, 2012
According to The Pulse Of Radio, AC/DC leads the list of acts whose guitarwork made Gibson.com's survey of the most awesome guitar riffs of the 1980s. The song "Back In Black" landed at No. 1, followed up by offerings from THE ROLLING STONES, OZZY OSBOURNE, SCORPIONS, DEF LEPPARD, JUDAS PRIEST and more.

Gibson.com wrote about "Back In Black", "Perhaps the greatest riff-oriented album of all time is the band's 1980 farewell to dearly departed singer Bon Scott. Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young cooked up some of the greatest riffs of their career on this magnum opus . . . but none is more memorable than the hard and heavy title track."

The complete list of Gibson's top 10 riffs of the 1980s was:

01. AC/DC - "Back In Black" ("Back In Black")
02. THE ROLLING STONES - "Start Me Up" ("Tattoo You")
03. OZZY OSBOURNE - "Crazy Train" ("Blizzard Of Ozz")
04. SCORPIONS - "Rock You Like A Hurricane" ("Love At First Sting")
05. DEF LEPPARD - "Photograph" ("Pyromania")
06. JUDAS PRIEST - "Breaking The Law" ("British Steel")
07. MICHAEL JACKSON - "Beat It"
08. THE CLASH - "Should I Stay or Should I Go" ("Combat Rock")
09. GUNS N' ROSES - "Sweet Child O'Mine" ("Appetite For Destruction")
10. RUSH - "Limelight" ("Moving Pictures")

ac/dc took advantage of early 70s--u.n. depopulation agenda propaganda--the first wave

ac/dc can be taken as to be bisexual
---
so gibson has been co-operating with u.n. "climate control" propaganda lately---by having ths "scandal" of them allowing non u.s. beauracrats to tell them they were forbidden from using certain woods in their guitars

never co-operate with those bitches
-------
so anyway---gibson has a poll---and has to put u.n. propaganda (ie ac/dc) as "master" in its poll

just like guitar world did with brian may the other day
----
on the other hand--those are both good bands/musicians---but still

its weird ass nazid death shit

Jesus, what a cliched, stock list.

Breaking the Law isn't even the best Judas Priest riff of 1980, let alone the entire decade.

So there's Michael Jackson and Def Leppard, but none of these bands: 1) Metallica, 2) Motorhead 3) Anthrax 4) Iron Maiden 5) Van Halen (even though I think EVH is overrated, WTF were these people thinking leaving him off this list?) 6) Slayer 7) Metallica 8) Heaven and Hell 9) Metallica 10) Even Megadeth or some hair metal bands 11) Metallica dammit!!!

I know it's from the 1978, but Powerage contains some of the band's best riffage.

POWERAGE - one of the greatest rock n' fucking roll records ever released!

After looking at that pathetic list a question came to my mind. If AC/DC are the guitar riff kings of the 80's does that make Nirvana the riff kings of the 90's?

Great post and your right on the mark. Make a list you you have a

thousand kid's on the commuter complaining about it. If you don't

agree with it so be it, make your own, it's all subjective anyway. I

don't agree with all the picks but it is a decent one. And Six

strings, Love will find a way. Really? What ever you on, I want

some of it. lol
