AC/DC 'Beyond The Thunder' Movie Segment Featured In ADWEEK - Oct. 16, 2012
"Beyond The Thunder", a documentary film by Kurt Squiers of SQUiERS, LLC and Gregg Ferguson of Current Motion, is about the tremendous influence rock band AC/DC has had on our culture around the globe. The two producers/directors dropped their careers in order to make this film, which pays homage to one of the greatest bands of all time in such a way that has less to do with the band members themselves, and more to do with the common bond that ties fans together around the globe.

This particular sequence, featured in Adweek, includes Anomaly's Mike Byrne, Gary Koepke, CEO of Modernista!, and David Baldwin, founder of Baldwin&. The clip, which can be seen below, reveals never-before-seen footage from "Beyond The Thunder" about how advertising agencies utilize AC/DC's iconic music to give brands their 30-second spot even bigger balls.

Despite lack of response from AC/DC's management, "Beyond The Thunder" has won for its promotional trailer at the 30th annual Telly Awards, was featured in Adweek, SPIN, Kerrang!, Talking Metal, Shockwaves Radio and Classic Rock magazine. "Beyond The Thunder" was also previewed in London during the Classic Roll Of Honour awards in front of THE WHO, THE ROLLING STONES, BLACK SABBATH, AEROSMITH, ZZ TOP, LED ZEPPELIN, among others as Kurt Squiers accepted the fan award for "Black Ice" for "Album Of The Year."

An early cut of "Beyond The Thunder" was screened at the Heavy Metal Film Festival in Los Angeles, Melbourne Arts Centre, Brisbane Gallery of Modern Art and the AC/DC-endorsed exclusive exhibition entitled "AC/DC Australia's Family Jewels" in Melbourne, Sydney, throughout Australia, Scotland's Kelvingrove Gallery, and Seattle's Experience Music Project Museum.

SQUiERS, LLC and Current Motion continue to seek a partnership with and permission from AC/DC's management for a worldwide commercial release.

Nice.
I especially like the quote, "As brands go, you cant do anything to sort of dissonate from your brand."
Are you listening Geofferey Taint?

At least in the 70's they were. You can't deny their output with BJ has been a little lackluster. With a few notable exceptions of course.

they're my fave band ever, have been since 1980 and i work it that whorish godforsaken industry they showcase in that promo clip.

i'd feel a lot better about seeing this film if it were about the impact AC/DC has on fans and musicians -- not brands and fucking corporate execs.

i could be wrong but the promo clip, featuring Nike, the Gap, etc., seemed to be focused on the music in an advertising context mostly.

fuck advertising.

long live the greatest brand ever.

p.s. i have to admit, "Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" in the Nike spot was pure unexpected genius.

Also just wanted to add that, Powerage is one of the greatest Rock & roll records ever created.
