LED ZEPPELIN: Video Footage Of Entire New York City Press Conference - Oct. 15, 2012
United Stations Radio Networks has uploaded video footage of LED ZEPPELIN's entire October 9 press conference at New York's Museum Of Modern Art following the screening of "Celebration Day". Check it out below.

Although John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were respectful to the writers and reporters, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were clearly annoyed that they genuinely wanted to know if the band is considering any new work or concerts. According to The Pulse Of Radio, Page and Plant would respond to any reunion questions by staring the reporter down — Plant alternately pretended to snore and even called a reporter from The Associated Press a "schmuck" for asking about the future of LED ZEPPELIN.

Page and Plant — who, while hawking their five-year-old reunion concert CD/DVD — couldn't be bothered to honestly answer the press, who tried gamely to play along with the fact that they were supposed to ignore the 300 pound gorilla in the room, which was that LED ZEPPELIN were right in front of them and NOT making music. At one point Page tersely answered a reporter's reunion question. "Well, look; at this time four years ago, we'd have been rehearsing to get to the O2," he said. "In December it'll be five years since the O2. So, that's a number of years that pass in between, so that seems unlikely, if there wasn't a whisper, or a hint that we would get together to do something or other. I'd say even two years ago, or whatever. Seems pretty unlikely, that's what I think."

Rock writer Bill Flanagan, the editorial director MTV Networks, served as the moderator and gently coaxed Plant into finally answering the reunion question with a bit of respect for the reporters in the room. "We were so happy that we were actually gettin' it right [coughs] and taking it beyond what we thought we were about that night," he said. "There were moments in it where we just took off and pushed off in some place. The responsibility of doing that four nights a week for the rest of time is a different thing. 'Cause, we're pretty good at what we do; the tail should never wag the dog. If we're capable of doing something in our own time that will be what will happen. So any inane questions who are from syndicated outlets [laughs], you should just really think what it takes to answer a question like that in one second, y'know? We know what we've got."

These guys were amazing. The real gods of hard rock. Plants solo career is amazing. Yeah.

that the other guys were game for it but not Plant? The numerous people that were contacted and did rehearsals with LZ not to get the job? That went on for about a year.

I'm surprised they even did the press conference. I can only assume that Plant needed the money. I'd just as soon Page, Jones and Jason do an album with a variety of singers under a different moniker.

I could care less at this point either way, but if Jason didn't think he was his dad back in the late 80's, they just might have done something at that time (other than the one show and then this show a few years ago).

I haven't heard any stories fingering Jason for the problems at the time. In fact all that I've read indicates that there was the better part of an album written and (at least) demoed with Tony Thompson - and that Plant walked out and couldn't be coaxed back.

Not that we'll probably hear that or the XYZ stuff until after Plant and/or Page have expired. :(

Them Crooked Vultures. Not into QOTSA or EODM but TCV is so killer & JPJ goes off! It would be killer to get an In Through the Outdoor meets Physical Graffitti produced by Jon Zorn.

I've been waiting for this DVD release since I knew they were playing the show. I'm not the biggest Zepp fan, and a lot of that is because of Plant's ignorance to rock music. He seemed to have given up, and I can't respect that. I get going out on top and not releasing anything to tarnish their legacy, but sometimes he words things in a very arrogant manner. I have nothing but respect for this band, but Bonzo was, hands down, the heaviness, the power, and the true talent behind Zeppelin.
At first, I read the comments and was going to fly off the handle at his remarks, until I watched the entire conference., and the Schmuck comment was taken WAY out of context. I just remember reading Iommi's book and him talking about Zepp's demos. Ozzy was just so shocked at the heaviness of it, and Iommi just confidently said, "Well be way heavier.", and he couldn't be more right, obviously.
When he was talking about the music industry today, however; he shouldn't of mentioned Metallica as a new band...especially among Kings of Leon. Kirk was in the audience, and I'm sure he wasn't pleased with that, haha. I'd love to hear a new song or two; maybe some sort of Greatest Hits compilation with some bonus originals. I'm glad they don't rehash their songs on random albums and push them out to everyone, but declining your music for the majority of things seems a little pointless...you make music for the fans to hear while trying to gain new fans. Zeppelin is a band every metalhead should have to explore and respect...let your music be known and let the creative juices flow. No one's asking for a world tour, but if you have no intentions of ever doing anything with the band, everything seems pointless. Although I do absolutely love and respect their music and contributions, I've always considered Sabbath the superior of the two (although it's not a competition). Just don't "poo poo" everything of a future. If you're able to record albums with random country musicians and what-not; you have some time to dedicate to your true fans who've followed your band since the beginning. We all (at least I do) understand your age and abilities to tour constantly again with a heavy schedule while trying to write an entire record and so on, but I don't see why they can't get together every once in a while for a little show? True fans would travel to catch a show and they would definitely be interested in something new. You've had more than enough time to be creative in other genres, so try and get something together in the future.

...is focus on releasing some of the live (bootleg) stuff from the 70's...maybe from Earls Court 75, or from the 77 tour?
