OPETH Performs At Amusement Park In Stockholm (Video) - Oct. 11, 2012
On September 14, Swedish progressive metallers OPETH played a special show at the Stockholm, Sweden amusement park Gröna Lund. The park invites bands to perform on a one-by-one basis — it's not a gig you can book like any other date on a tour.

When the concert was originally announced earlier this year, OPETH frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt said, "Tremendous honor for us! Unbelievable. You can't book a stage like this as they are based on being invited to play. I've been there a million times throughout my life, mainly just getting sick in some roller coaster. Never did I think that my little band would be on that fucking stage. So humbled by this. I rarely get worked up for anything, but I am actually excited about this. I think it will be a magic night. We'll do our best to make it so anyways."

A 10-minute video clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage as well as clips of the band's performance can be seen below.

OPETH earlier in the year completed a North American co-headlining tour with MASTODON. The trek kicked off on April 4 in Portland, Maine, and visited more than 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up at Atlanta's Masquerade on May 12.

OPETH's latest album, "Heritage", sold 19,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 19 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous studio CD, 2008's "Watershed", opened with more than 19,000 units to land at No. 23.

is the new Porcupine Tree. Loved 'em but after 4 lackluster shows and their entry into more naptimey prog I just no longer care. A real pity. I get Mikael can't really do the death growls that well any more but Katatonia was able to make that change and excel - and to my mind Opeth hasn't.

OTOH if they bring along someone that can do the growls I'm more than happy to give 'em a shot (Swano or maybe Tagtgren for example).

Those half-assed growls at 7.15 and after are awful, it is not him anymore!!! I now do not wonder why he quit Bloodbath.
