SLASH Attends 'An Intimate Portrait' Book Launch In Beverly Hills - Oct. 10, 2012
"Slash: An Intimate Portrait" (Insight Editions), a new 144-page hardcover book by Richard Bienstock, with photography by Robert Knight, was launched last Thursday night, October 4 at Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills, California.

Slash, who arrived later at the event to stand beside Robert Knight (see photo below), tweeted: "I am not worthy!!" regarding forewords from Joe Perry of AEROSMITH and Ronnie Wood of THE ROLLING STONES in the book.

Perry is also honored to be in the photographs at Knight's exhibition at Mouche, which runs from October 5 to October 19.

"Finally, the great American rock and roll photographer Robert Knight, and I am in his show. WOW! Thanks, man," Perry tweeted.

GUNS N' ROSES' 1987 debut, "Appetite For Destruction", is eighteen times platinum, has sold over twenty-eight million copies, and launched the career of modern guitar god Slash. Over the past twenty-five years, Slash's cool stage presence, gloriously unkempt hair, iconic top hat, and soulful guitar virtuosity has been the epitome of contemporary hard rock. "Slash: An Intimate Portrait" takes you beyond the glitz and mystique, to reveal the warmth, charm, and humility of one of popular music's most revered rockers.

In addition to his cherished work with GN'R, Slash's journey spans working with Michael Jackson, Fergie, Iggy Pop, Lenny Kravitz, the supergroup VELVET REVOLVER, and releasing two critically acclaimed solo albums. Robert Knight's photographs in "Slash: An Intimate Portrait" trace significant milestones over twenty years in Slash's career, showing him onstage, in the studio, and at home. Knight's talent for capturing the true essence of his subject is on full display: candid, dramatic, and often funny. These photos take us beyond the big hair, the big hat, and the huge guitar riffs to underscore the larger-than-life personality and genuine enthusiasm that have made Slash one of rock's most recognizable figures for more than three decades. With over one hundred arresting and never-before-published color and black-and-white photos, and warmly candid insights from Slash himself, this fascinating book frames a real and complete perspective of today's most iconic guitarist.

"Slash: An Intimate Portrait" features an entertaining and insightful foreword by close friend and legend in his own right, THE ROLLING STONES guitarist Ronnie Wood, and a witty and thoughtful preface from AEROSMITH's Joe Perry. The book also has revelatory text by noted rock scribe Richard Bienstock.

"Slash: An Intimate Portrait" is a treat for guitar heads, rock buffs, and pop music fans. Plus, it will be released just in time to visually complement an upcoming special edition of Slash's highly regarded sophomore solo record, "Apocalyptic Love".

Like nikki sixx , first they write their lil tell-alls about dope,booze,chicks.
Then they write books with photos?!

Get a different hobby!

Real rockers don't write books because there is no need!

You can write a gazillion books, but Slash is still
A hack.
I find it legendary that such a mediocre player has reached legend status.
I mean, i like Alter Bridge but Myles just wastes his time with DA HAKK.

So:
FUKK HAKK SLASH, MUFFMEISTER MCLOAD, JUNKIE ADLER & ASSKISSER RIOTACT.

Xhole=GNR!!!
Xhole=GOD!!!

For such a celebrated photographer, I gotta say im fairly unimpressed with the front cover! Looks more like one of those cheap unorthadised books! Hopefully the photos are better on the inside. First Impressions... Just saying!
Well done tho Slasher!

Slash is far from being a hack. The guy has an instantly recognisable sound. He plays with such passion. His more melodic stuff is jaw dropping. The guitar lines on Estranged are nothing short of genius. I love the band he's created with Myles Kennedy. He's got an excellent work ethic too, unlike a certain bipolar, ginger freak. Really pleased things are going his way. Looking forward to the next solo album.

That post read like a press release:
"takes you beyond the glitz and mystique"
What was that now?
We know BM is partial to Slash but "guitar god"? Let's truly consider the source since there is no writer credit.

RiotAct seems to go ball deep over Slash's post-GnR ventures.
Hilarious that he prolly didn't like his best known work. Same goes for Axl Rose, RiotAct only gave high praise for ChiDem but never for AFD. Real confusing for the RiotAct fans.
