CRADLE OF FILTH Frontman Reveals His Favorite British Extreme Metal Album - Oct. 10, 2012
CRADLE OF FILTH vocalist Dani "Filth" Davey recently spoke to Terrorizer magazine abut his favorite British extreme metal album: "History Of A Time To Come", the 1988 effort from SABBAT. Check out the clip below.

Sanctuary Records reissued two classic SABBAT albums: "History Of A Time To Come" and "Dreamweaver" (1989). The remastered CDs contain audio recordings from the band's 1990 concert in East Berlin, which was previously released as the official "The End Of The Beginning" video.

CRADLE OF FILTH's tenth studio album, "The Manticore And Other Horrors", will be released in North America on October 30 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Sabbat was an easy on the ears thrash metal band, nothing extreme about them.

is one of the greatest metal abums EVER. Why this is not in the same league as Reign in Blood is beyond me. I still listen to it regularly....."Hark the fallen angels sing, glory to Satan our king"

Sabbat were easily the best UK thrash band. Onslaught were the other notable one but Sabbat were in a different class. Have to give respect to Dani Filth, believe he was responsible to some degree in getting those 2 albums re-released when taking the band out on tour with them.

Either Venom's "Black Metal" or Anaal Nathrakh's "The Codex Necro" is obvious right answer here.

Sabbat fucking rule. Cradle Of Filth are responsible for getting me into bands like Sabbat and Massacre.

Carcass for me, hands down. Either of Necroticism or Symphonies. Awesome music, awesome lyrics. Never gets old, unlike the Morrisound productions.

To me Sabbath meh, I would not consider them as extreme, I prefer the first (or any with Martin) Skyclad album hands down!!!!! For my tastes, any Carcass or Akercocke albums would be among my faves.

I love Skyclad as well as Sabbat but they are different, more mellow and pagan rather than satanic. My wife likes Skyclad, she won't dig Sabbat at all.

I would call Sabbat a thrash band not "extreme metal." Carcass and Napalm Death are awesome bands but they are different styles.

And for Sabbat, Dreamweaver is the one. Hands down, every time. Not extreme? Fuck off.
