CARNIFEX 'In A State Of Suspended Animation' - Oct. 9, 2012
Vocalist Scott Lewis of the San Diego, California-based deathcore band CARNIFEX has released the following statement:

"Fans and friends, first and foremost, a sincere thank you is in order to our fans and friends across the world. Without your support and passion, we are nothing.

"As of now, CARNIFEX is in a state of suspended animation. The reasons for this are many and complicated.

"Let me be clear in saying that Shawn [Cameron, drums], Cory [Arford, guitar], Ryan [Gudmunds, guitar], Fred [Calderon, bass] and I are still members of CARNIFEX. Let me also be clear in saying that although the future is very uncertain, I can say with optimism, that this is not farewell, but rather, until we meet again.

"CARNIFEX is now retreating into the obscurity we once came from. Be certain that us as individuals and as bandmates have a true love for this band. Our desire to create our brand of art and music has never been about trends or money. These things will not decide out future.

"We invite you to join us live, for the last time in the foreseeable future. We will be making these select dates as memorable as possible and look forward to seeing you there."

Upcoming CARNIFEX shows:

Dec. 21 - San Diego, CA - SOMA Mainstage
Dec. 22 - Anaheim, CA - Chain Reaction
Dec. 23 - Hollywood, CA - The Whisky A Go Go

Capital Chaos has uploaded multi-camera video footage of CARNIFEX's April 28 performance at Ace Of Spades in Sacramento, California. Check it out below.

CARNIFEX's latest album, "Until I Feel Nothing", was released on October 25, 2011 via Victory Records. Produced by Tim Lambesis (AS I LAY DYING), the follow-up to 2010's "Hell Chose Me" "captures an in-your-face extremity that drips with malice and ferocity, solidifying the effort as the most anticipated album of the year," according to a press release. The cover artwork was created by famed comic book illustrator Menton3 (Silent Hill, Monocyte).

During the writing process for the new CD, CARNIFEX "aimed to redefine their extreme sound, resulting in their most brutal album to date. The dark, blasphemous approach to 'Until I Feel Nothing' results in an abrasive record, complete with blood-curdling screams and razor-sharp guitar riffs — the kind only CARNIFEX is able to flawlessly deliver."

they're not bad, but definitely not anything special. I liked their newest stuff.
