LED ZEPPELIN's New York City Press Conference: Video Footage Available - Oct. 9, 2012
LED ZEPPELIN met the press earlier today (Tuesday, October 9) at New York City's Museum of Modern Art, following a screening of their new concert film, "Celebration Day". The band — Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham filling in for his late dad John Bonham — talked about the one-off reunion concert filmed on December 10, 2007 at London's O2 Arena and performed as a tribute to Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun.

On whether we will see any more LED ZEPPELIN shows:

Plant: "That night, back then, we were just hangin' on for dear life. We were just watching each other, we were so happy we were getting it right. There were moments in it where we just took off, pushed off into some place. The responsibility of doing that four nights of week for the rest of time is a different thing. We're pretty good at what we do, but the tail should never wag the dog. If we're capable of doing something in our own time, that will be what will happen. So any inane questions from people from syndicated outlets, you should just really think about what it takes to answer a question like that in one second. We know what we've got."

Page: "I think if we had the opportunity to get back together again, which is what we had there to do the O2, things had left us a little uncomfortable like Live Aid and the Atlantic 40th, etc., we just really wanted to get it right and go out and play to people who maybe never heard us, who had heard about this reputation and what we were about, and basically stand up and be counted for what we were. That's my feeling, anyway."

Plant: "I think expectations are a horrific thing. If you go off and play in North Africa, you know you're going to have a good time and work with people and there's nothing else about it. That's how we started in a room with Jason's dad all that time ago. So to do anything at all together is such a kind of incredible weight, because sometimes we were fucking awful. And sometimes we were stunning and a couple of times we tried to get together in the meantime. I think we were really propelled by Jason and his enthusiasm and his dark glasses. He really brought the atmosphere and expectation because he knows far more about us than we do. He's got all the bootlegs, and he's in touch with the people who make the bootlegs."

The band will appear again tonight at the gala premiere of the movie at the Ziegfeld Theater.

Video footage of today's press conference can be seen below.

I am interested in the DVD but am dissappointed in the way it appears to be getting packaged. It seems as though we have to buy the CD when we just want the DVD or Blue Ray.

Enough with the questions about more shows. Zeppelin disbanded 32 years ago. Plant looks 100. Zep were great, let em rest in peace!

Maybe perform once a year & give some $ to charity or just not play at all. They don't need to keep diminishing their impact from the old days. IMO, the diminishing started in the 90s on that Page/Plant video where Plant had a collection of effects pedals on his lap & he was manipulating his vocals with comical results. I mean, WTF?

I will be buying the BluRay package. but it does seem odd to be watching a press conference for a concert that happened five years ago.

It's for the film, not the concert.

Maybe get Lou Reed on drums then? Or perhaps Robert Trujillo on Bass and really mix things up.

I was really hoping they would never cash in, but...well..

Getting the blu ray of this. All 4 of them should jam out a song or two as well.

Did anyone actually understand any of Robert Plants diatribe? What kind of jargon was that? Was it a way to say "not interested" because the other members were there and didn't want to offend, or what? Anyway, I too have mixed feelings about reunion shows. Just saw a video on Youtube of them playing Celebration Day from an early 70's concert and it was just majestic. The energy, the feel. I dunno if they can recapture that now.
