JIMMY PAGE Doesn't See Any More LED ZEPPELIN Reunion Shows - Oct. 8, 2012
According to The Pulse Of Radio, LED ZEPPELIN will meet the press tomorrow (Tuesday, October 9) at New York City's Museum of Modern Art, following a screening of their new concert film, "Celebration Day". The band — Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham filling in for his late dad John Bonham — will talk about the one-off reunion concert filmed on December 10, 2007 at London's O2 Arena and performed as a tribute to Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun. The band will appear again tomorrow night at the gala premiere of the movie at the Ziegfeld Theater.

Jimmy Page told Rolling Stone that it was important to show the crowd back in 2007 that ZEPPELIN weren't just going through the motions, explaining, "The thing about LED ZEPPELIN was that it was always four musicians at the top of their game, but they could play like a band. Even in the first couple of rehearsal days, running up to the O2, we were playing pretty good. But we really wanted to shine as a band. . . I wanted people to feel, 'They're taking this seriously.'"

He went on to say that he doubts ZEPPELIN will reunite for any future live dates: "I think if there had been any more concerts to be done, we'd already be talking about them. So I don't see it. ['Celebration Day'] is a testament to what we did in 2007. There it is."

Jimmy Page told The Pulse Of Radio that he knew that the magic surrounding LED ZEPPELIN wouldn't last forever: "I said, basically around the time of the first album, it's all a race against time, and I think it is. It still is. It still is a race against time and trying to do good work and improve on what you've done. It's more difficult as you get older because you know your days are numbered, really. Within ZEPPELIN we had this amazing vehicle that we could continue and continue and just come up with amazing things — which fortunately we did continue, and we did come up with amazing stuff. But I still thought it was a race against time. I had no idea how prophetic it would be with the loss of John Bonham."

I'm pretty sure that even with more reunion shows, you still wouldn't be able t see the original line up.

That's a wise decision!

I want to keep a stellar image of Led Zepplin, I don't want it tarnished with senile fools on stage wearing adult diapers

Plan'ts tight ass refuses to have fun. Who knows why. I'm sure Bonzo would be like, "Hey fucker, my kid wants to play with you guys, so do it."

I'm fascinated by Page on acoustics.

Pick up your Martin and start coming up with weird shit. Don't need vocals!!

Just combine the 6-string and your 12-string and see what happens.

Yes, because it's common knowledge that ALL men in their mid-to-late 60s have Alzheimer's and have no control of their bowels.

There are plenty of musicians who can still kick ass onstage at that age. The bottom line is that Plant's voice just isn't up to extensive touring, and even if it were, he has no interest in living in the past.

Right, he has no interest in living in the past but has no issue with living off the past by playing Zep tunes with every new project he's had over the years, while refusing to play them with his actual Zep bandmates.

Even if they only played a handful of select dates each year, and do a show like the one in 2007, there is no way anyone could say they were tarnishing the legacy.

He's already got 12 South American dates booked as "Robert Plant Presents Sensational Space Shifters", and you know he'll be doing "Levee" and "Black Dog" and a few others. He's too stuck on making excuses about why he can't play that music anymore, and if he had any integrity he'd just close the vault on all Zep material moving forward.

At least we still have BCC to enjoy (for now) until Glenn Hughes opens his mouth again.

I don't see him playing a song or 2 living off the past, far different than a full fledge Zep reunion. He does play the songs now, but they are mellow non Zep like vocals on them. He's stated himself he doesn't have it to do those songs justice. He choses a few select Zep songs to put his rootsy rock touch on it. Like it or not, he's not out trying to be 25 year old Robert Plant. I respect this. Do you think he's not participating to be spiteful? He did the Plant Page thing when he still had some game left.

I respect he's playing music that suits him more now. He's one musician that is actually still trying to move forward and explore, which is rare. I realize most people on this site don't like it cuz its not "metal", but I think it sounds better than if he tries to do the old Zep material as it was done years ago. Tuned down, and sang mediocre.

I knew Plant's voice was gone, but now I see why. While some legendary acts are getting and staying sober so they can keep their music alive, Plant chose to keep the party lifestyle going for years. He is in his early 60's, but looks like he's in his early 70's!

Just stay retired. Another Led Zep show would be like Clint Eastwood at his age doing another Dirty Harry movie. Plus the fans can't afford $800 tickets anyway.

I've seen them together maybe about 5 times when all alive and then in various combinations, I think we as fans should just be thankful we have this DVD to enjoy and I really, really hope people, fans etc will please quit asking when they will tour and if they will tour, over and over again, enjoy it for what it was.........

Shame, even if it wasn't an extensive tour but just a few select dates in big arenas in a few countries it would be nice for younger fans who never got to see these guys in their prime.

A couple back to back shows would guarantee a multi-million dollar payday for these guys, but some ancient, rare, almost alien force is holding them back. What's the name of that force again...... let me think.....

Oh yeah. INTEGRITY.

Totally agree with RevengeOfToonces!
Why do some of you goonballs think a band owes you so much?
LedZep has entertained most of us countless nights for pennies. I would pay top dollar to see them play without complaint yet I fully respect they don't want to do another show. There is something to be said about bands touring that are still making music together whether they release it or not. Why should they put money or the fans above their comfort level if it doesn't feel natural for them to rejoin onstage? I respect they decided to rock til the end not sell-out.

If Led Zep ever does another tour, the only logical choice to have on drums is Dave Grohl. Period.
