TWISTED SISTER Frontman To Announce New Reality-TV Show On Friday - Oct. 7, 2012
TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider has revealed via Twitter that he has entered a "major" new reality-TV venture, the details of which will be announced on Friday, October 12 on NBC's "Today" show.

Snider is no stranger to reality TV, having previously participated in "Wife Swap", "The Celebrity Apprentice" and his own A&E series, "Growing Up Twisted". In 2008, Snider was also featured as a contestant on CMT's "Gone Country".

During his time on "The Celebrity Apprentice", Snider raised $326,000 for his charity of choice, March Of Dimes.

In May, Snider released both a memoir, "Shut Up And Give Me The Mic", and a showtunes album, "Dee Does Broadway".

On October 30, Eagle Rock Entertainment will deliver an early holiday treat, with the release of TWISTED SISTER's "A Twisted Xmas - Live In Las Vegas" on DVD, CD, and Digital Video/Audio.

Look at all the haters...LOL

Dee Snider keeps makin that paper, and has lived 10 days to everyone else's 1. He's had more impact on the history of metal than any of you cum slaves ever will. His wife is hotter than all of yours. So you all keep on hating, Dee will keep on accomplishing and living it up well.

Haters gonna hate...

not gonna jump on the hate train, just think if twisted sister wants to get back in the game, they need a really good, non-christmas album. dee has said he doesn't see the point, so I don't understand why he wants to be in the limelight as a once was/has been. I really think he has it in him to pull it off. when I listen to under the blade, I just wonder where it all fell apart. He's still got a lot to say, does the band not know how to write music anymore? what is the deal?

They are exactly where they want to be. Playing 10 to 15 shows a year, headlining the biggest metal festivals that exist. Just look at the people that saw them at this year's Graspop Metal Meeting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UtZf6Va1ac&feature=relmfu

Money is not the definition of success, but Dee's money troubles have been well documented. I feel bad for the guy having to do this shit to earn a living. I'm sure since his appearances on TV that he's gotten a couple nice royalty checks, though.

You guys are oblivious.

Doing tv is WAYYYY more lucrative than music, especially in this day and age of music downfreeloaders. The same applies to TS going out and doing their oldies set compared to putting out a new album, the latter of which will just cost money and will likely not even allow for breaking even, much less resulting in profit.

Dee is a good businessman and has managed to come back from his destitute situation of 1992-93, when almost everyone ignored Widowmaker. I bought the album and played the shit out of it, but nowhere near enough people did. They were too busy listening to Nirvana. Since then, Dee's done what he's had to do. Ever see his house and his car collection?

Reality is that TS have written 3 good songs in their whole career.
First TS christmas crap, now reality tv.
There is no end to the stream of irrelevant media generated by this has been.

Sorry I exaggerate sometimes, I also like SH, but I'm still mad thinking what an unnecessary turdfest they made out of Come out and play.
If you can hear a guitar on that one, you have superhuman hearing.

I guess the legend is bigger than the achievement.

I wonder how many people are actually still taken in by "reality TV" shows. There is not one thing real about them, and hasn't been since maybe the first two or three seasons of the Real World. They all know they're on camera, they are actors just leek on a sit com or drama series, people aren't as outrageaous and viscious to each other in real life, mostly. Just a bunch of fake drama, people cussing, bitching, threatenin,. etc. Makes me sick. Perfect venue for Dee then.

Can't believe that this is coming from the same Dee Snider who battled the PMRC back in the day.

With all of his different ventures, Dee still makes more money than 95% of bands out there nowadays. Most metal musicians today have to work day jobs. Dee does, too; only his are far more high-profile, and likely more fun to do.

The rest of the time, he plays about 20 shows a year with Twisted Sister, and they're not exactly getting paid peanuts for those. Jay Jay French has even said that Dee has mentioned not wanting to do those anymore, but promoters keep on making good offers. '80s nostalgia is big now, and TS is riding that wave. That's being a good businessman; something which most musicians are not. I don't expect a bunch of broke-ass metalheads on BM to understand.
