SLASH Says GUNS N' ROSES Was 'The Ultimate Pre-Adult, Post-Adolescent Experience' - Oct. 4, 2012
The Indendent recently conducted an interview with legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES). A few excerpts from the chat follow below.

On pop singer Adele:

Slash: "She's great. She's a shot in the arm for this industry. She writes her own music that's not at all contrived. And she's managed to sell loads of records which makes her a great example to the younger artists. Like Amy Winehouse, she's organic and real. It's great to have that happen at this moment when everybody else is so synthetic."

On his opinion that much of the best music lately has come from British women:

Slash: "Amy Winehouse was great. God bless her. She was one of the purest artists to come out for a long time. Most of those who have come out are female; it's not the male-dominated rock and roll icons of my generation. It's refreshing."

On GUNS N' ROSES:

Slash: "I still look back on it being the ultimate pre-adult, post-adolescent experience. But I simply don't think you and I would be speaking had I tried to carry on. I'm a pretty durable survivor and I'm fortunate to be here anyway. But I think if I'd kept trying to negotiate that existence, I wouldn't be here."

On his children, London, 9, and Cash, 7:

Slash: "I want to make sure that I instil in my children some of the values that kept me grounded growing up. In the midst of all the drugs and the booze and the chicks, no matter how crazy I have been, there was always a decorum and set of manners. A lot of that came from my parents and wider family."

Sorry Slash but Judas Priest, Scorpions, and Iron Maiden were the ultimate experiences when I was a teenager!

He wasn't talking about Guns N Roses was the "ultimate pre-adult, post-adolescent experience" for everyone. He was referring to it being the ultimate for him personally. It was a statement about that time period in HIS life.

Deep Purple , Rush , Priest , UFO ( Schenker era ) , Maiden , Motorhead , KISS etc. Are the bands that where apart of my early years & growing up. Nothing against GNR for what they did with one record. But those groups I listed ahead of Guns are far greater with their music/accomplishments.

What the fuck does that have to do with the quality of the great music they did make? That was my point.

And you are already discredited considering you loved Chinese Democracy until you decided to troll the other way.

Those bands are all a generation before Guns so the poster is probably a little older than you are.

Slash is referring to his experience in GN'R, not the fan's experience. 20 years ago some of us were teens living at home and in awe by the entire Guns N' Roses spectacle that spanned from 1988-1993. At the same time, Slash was a 20 something kid who viewed the world through rose tinted shades...

He's talking about the experience of teenage GnR fans. Slash was already an adult by the time GnR mattered.

Why is this hack still talking about Guns 'n'Roses?
He better concentrate on what he's been doing these past two decades, which is making more crappy than reasonably good music.

So:

FUKK HAKK SLASH, MUFFMEISTER MCLOAD, JUNKIE ADLER & ASSKISSER RIOTACT.

Xhole=GNR!!!
Xhole=GOD!!!

Rockphantom is correct, Slash is not talking about if his band was the ultimate experience in listening to them, but the sex, drugs and rock n roll lifestyle that GnR had.

The backstage orgies, tour bus shennanigans and enough drugs to keep the cartels in the black for decades.

Axl is an embarrassment to the name Guns n' Roses after releasing Chinese Democracy. Good thing the original lineup isn't associated with that garbage. They wouldn't have put that out, anyway.

"He owns the whole name Guns N' Roses. He made Slash , Duff etc. all sign over their parts of the name to him before they all left in the mid 90's. So therefore Axl can use the name "Guns N' Roses" it's his band and call and that is a fact and how it goes. Also great post by him (Axl) too. gotta agree with everything said."

RiotAct prefers KISS to GnR. He actually says things like,"Lemmy is King". Your thoughts please?

"Deep Purple , Rush , Priest , UFO ( Schenker era ) , Maiden , Motorhead , KISS etc. Are the bands that where apart of my early years & growing up. Nothing against GNR for what they did with one record. But those groups I listed ahead of Guns are far greater with their music/accomplishments."

There goes the theory that RiotAct is a 13 year old girl. GnR was mainstream by '87. At the youngest possible calculation if only 13 year old back then would be 38 today.
Now I'd bet RiotAct was about the same age as GnR when they came out and that puts his age at late 40's/ early 50's.

That's a little too old to be writing:

Slashole > Axlhole
