DEICIDE Drummer Contributing To Hardcore Project Featuring CANNIBAL CORPSE, Ex-TERROR Members - Oct. 3, 2012
Veteran death metal drummer Steve Asheim (DEICIDE, ORDER OF ENNEAD) recently entered Deg Entertainment Studios in St Petersburg, Florida to lay down drums on a song for an upcoming New York hardcore-style project featuring guitarists Rob Barrett (CANNIBAL CORPSE) and Doug Weber (ex-TERROR) and drummer J.C. Dwyer (RAPED APE). More details on the project will be released soon.

With a carrer spanning over 25 years, Asheim has played drums on a combined 16 international releases, completed over 80 international tours and is showing no signs of slowing down with a new DEICIDE release slated for 2013.

"[While] DEICIDE is my main focus, it leaves me with a lot of time off between tours," said Steve. "I am not complaining, but I would like to expand into other areas with my career in this time off. In the past I have experimented with my side project ORDER OF ENNEAD, done some drum clinics and some session work here and there. This was all really cool and a great experience. I would like to keep my hands and my mind busy and continue to focus in these areas when I have down time. Currently, I am working on new material for DEICIDE, ORDER OF ENNEAD and some DEI-gigs coming too. You know the drill."

I talked to Rob in April of 2010 about this. Glad to see it's finally gonna see the light of day! Wonder if they still got the Sick Of It All vocalist on board?!

Maybe this is the "prominent hardcore band" Rob was talking about on CC's Centuries of Torment DVD. About time!

Sure to check this out, I am a big fan of CC and Deicide and I love the thrashiness that Rob brings to the table. A very interesting combination with Steve and the rest of the guys.

This yet-un-named project has been developing for a good bit now, whenever they have time off at the same time from their "main endeavors." Production has finally begun on an album, slated for a 2013 release.

Steve came in and jammed drums on 1 song, quite simply because it was cool. There is no singer onboard yet, but there are a few guys checking it out.

Other than that, the band is:
Rob Barrett (Cannibal Corpse, x-Malevolent, Solstice) - Guitar
JC Dwyer (Der-W, x-Pro-Pain, Raped Ape) - Drums
Doug Weber (x-Terror) - Guitar
Jonathan Buske (Maximum Penalty, x-Terror, Rag Men) - Bass

More info as it takes shape...
