Good, but not enough of a big step up from Anette. Better singer live obviously, but not enough to take the band to world domination. Floor is a classically trained soprano, and comes from an operatic style. Nightwish expanded their fanbase five times by losing the opera vocals. To go back to that stylr would be a mistake. They need to hunt the world and do numwrous auditions to find the right fit. Hope the band treats this as just a way to finish the tour. They have to audition, similar to the way dream theater did for portnoy..

And aparicio---that's exactly what I thought after reading your post: "what!!!" As in what the hell are you even trying to say??? Try making some sense.

From this video, Floor sounds great and I think is a fantastic choice as a permanent replacement. Being a classically trained singer, she'll have to take some time to figure out how to approach tracks like "Storytime" and "Amaranth" which Anette sang in a simple, high pop falsetto, but no doubt she'll figure it out in no time.

I liked Anette, she sounded fine when I saw them a few weeks ago, I like the last two albums, and I am not a Tarja fan (though she certainly is talented). That said, I just think Floor is by far and away a better long term fit for a band like Nightwish. Plus she headbangs and hair whips on the heavy parts---you'd never catch Anette doing that!

Really bummed I won't get to see her perform with them. Hopefully next time if they decide to make her permanent.

I think I like Elize better.

Elize is better in a more natural singing style, kind of like anneke from the gathering (x singer). She would take the band to new levels.

in other news, Floor is doing an amazing job, sounds like a mix of Tarja and Annette. She has done a great job in everything she's done before(Ayreon, After Forever, etc) and she is doing a great job now. they would be really stupid not to keep her and actually write a metal album next time!

I'm not familiar with Floor's work, but I think she sounds like someone who can pull off Tarja's vocals pretty damn well!

What a fucking devia Floor is, she needs her own dressing room? I wonder if she will get fired over this.

Do you expect her to change her clothes in the same room with the guys? Or do you think she can do everything in a bathroom? Because you know they've got dozens of people behind the stage working the lighting, the sound, stage effects, guitar techs, etc., the whole EVERYTHING, and they all have to use bathrooms. If she hogs a bathroom when people have to do their thing, then that's not very productive. It's a lot less of a hassle to juggle potty-time if you just give her a room to get nekkid in by herself.
Not that big of a deal, coffee person.

Observations and comments

I like Floor, I liked Annette, I liked Tarja... to a point. Floor is a great singer. I give her huge kudos for knowing the songs so quickly a sign of a true professional. Her voice though is NOT suited to the new music of Nightwish. She does fit well with the older music of Nightwish. At times she was flat or off. I give her props because she is new to the newer songs. Her stage presence is good, not the best not Sharon den Adel but better than Annette.

Second. To say she looks like a drag queen is mean, cruel and full of shit. The problem with puny tiny males is they cannot hand a woman that is bigger and tougher than them. Tiny men with tiny heads (both above and below). Your just jealous because in most cases she would probably stomp you into the ground for being a D&$K! Look around Tiny Tim's I see women that are drop dead gorgeous everyday that are 6 feet tall and arms bigger than many men now days. But then again you probably only notice the tiny girl with a huge rack who makes you look big.

Two thumbs up for Floor but I do not see her as the future of Nightwish. Why should she be, she has her own band

Stoked to see Floor Jansen in Nightwish. I've said for years if they absolutely can't have Tarja, the next best person is definately her. I really hope they stick with her and don't go through a long audition process again. Her past ablums are right there, you know what you're getting. I think the next album could be more powerful with her singing.

Floor should have been the singer after Tarja. She can handle the operatic stuff, she can handle the pop stuff. I saw NW in New York, one of the last shows Anette sang, and I thought it was great. Floor? RAISES IT THROUGH THE ROOF. The fact that she knew the songs and was ready to go is an indication that this move was planned all along.

I'm not sure it was planned, I think the thing with Annette going to the hospital was the last straw for the band. None of us know what was going on behind the scenes. Floor jumped on a plane and arrived just in time to do the show. She was probably sitting on the plane with headphones on going over the lyrics again and again trying to learn them in time. I wouldn't even be judging her future live sound in Nightwish on this performance with no practice or rehersal time. It seemed to be kind of similar to the previous show where they had guest vocalists pretty much winging it. If anything I thought Floor sounded a bit tentative of her usual style and power.

You guys forgot to list a few songs, like "Dead to the World" and "I Want my Tears Back." Your list gave the impression they mostly played newer stuff...glad to see they played an older song like "Dead to the World." As for Floor, I thought she sounded good, more like Tarja than Annette, but I think that's a good sound for Nightwish.
