YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's 'Relentless' Autobiography Due Next Year - Oct. 1, 2012
Legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen is working on his autobiography. Described as "the only real and true story written by Malmsteen himself," "Relentless", will be released in early 2013.

A trailer for the "Relentless" book can be seen below.

As previously reported, Malmsteen has launched an instructional web site, RelentlessShred.com.

If you become a member of the site, you will receive access to "exclusive, never-before-seen content," reads a message on the site.

Want to learn to play guitar — and actually impress? Dying to learn Yngwie's techniques? Tired of watching nobodies, trying to teach you how to play Yngwie's songs? Now, why would you take lessons from a random, when you can learn from Yngwie himself?

For the first time in history, Yngwie Malmsteen is giving lessons on how to become a virtuoso like him! Inside, you will find lessons on everything from bending to six-string arpeggios. Also inside are tablatures, DVDs, and other items exclusive to this site. You won't find any of these things, especially not Yngwie himself, on any other site! Relentless Shred is the only place to go to not only learn guitar; but to master it.

There are four levels of membership: Bronze ($34.99 per month), Silver ($49.99), Gold ($79.99) and Master Virtuoso ($99.99).

"If people are getting back into playing good guitar solos, I'm obviously all for it," Malmsteen recently told Spin magazine. "I don't understand how music ever got to the point where they were a bad thing."

"In the early '90s, something happened," added Malmsteen, 49. "All these alternative bands came out and couldn't play and made fun of guitarists who could by saying they were over the top. I remember thinking, 'What is this shit?' But to quote [violinist and composer Niccolò] Paganini — and I put myself in the class with him and Hendrix — 'One must feel strongly to make others feel strongly.'"

Asked if shredding was in need of some humanizing, Yngwie said, "I don't think so. Less is not more. More is more. These punk musicians couldn't play and were heralded for it. They couldn't even tune their guitars, yet people thought I was the self-indulgent one? I think every player worth listening to realizes now that limitations are for the lazy."

- how this fat fuck could have the most amazing technique and still be a totally worthless musician.

Hey Wingnut - two hints -

1. Buy a shirt that fits -

2. Button it.

You must be deaf? Listen to his first album - Rising Force (1984) for starters.

Yngwie has always stood his ground. The book should be awesome. Rising Force, Jason Becker, and Racer X have inspired countless young metal heads...sitting in their bedrooms rewinding tapes for hours at a time, trying to pick apart the rhythms and leads with a glimmer of hope when a run is nailed!!

Geordie from Killing Joke NEVER played a solo in any KJ song and is a far more compelling guitarist than Yngwie ever willl be.

I mean, the 1st Rising Force album was great, but this guy has been doing the same fucking widdly-diddly thing since 1985. He's like The Ramones of guitar shredders.

This should be a good read, as long as he doesn't think of it as a tool to just make himself look awesome in a book and actually cares to write a real bio.

Anyway, you guys are such dicks to Yngwie. Bands like Motorhead and Maiden, and Slayer are all EXPECTED to deliver the same style material year after year but when Yngwie does it you shit on him for it. News flash - Yngwie does what HE wants.

I want a Rising Force part 2, with well crafted solos, or another collaboration with Turner for some excellent songwriting - but it aint happening. So, whatever.

You don't get it. The reason Yngwie Malmssteen has near-zero popularity is what he says with his music. Musical performance is an expression of emotions, and all this sad tub of goo expresses is how good he is and how lucky you are to breathe the same air as he is.

Yes, Yngwie does what HE wants. That's why not many people like him.

So with your mindset! all artists that are popular is automatically good and talented musicians. It has nothing to do with what kind of backing from record companies, etc they have?

Probably a really cool read. Don't think it will be the most objective read. Would be cool if someone did a bunch of interviews with his exband members for a website story. That would be a wild read.

has the video got to do with the book? It's basically saying Hey I'm famous, hey my partner is beautiful (let's be honest here, what is she doing on this clip apart from rolling her eyes and smiling?)and hey, I know famous people. ego, ego, ego. The man CAN play guitar, you can't deny that, but man is he corny as f**k, always will be.

“Less is not more. More is more.” Damn right. This “solos are indulgent” shit is just made up by people that lack the talent to play them as an excuse for their lack of ability.

Its about what's compelling to you.

Yngwie said, "I don't think so. Less is not more. More is more. These punk musicians couldn't play and were heralded for it. They couldn't even tune their guitars, yet people thought I was the self-indulgent one?"

Yngwie diminishes the importance and talent in punk guitarists because he has a general idea of what punk is. Its not just buzzsaw guitars. Listening to Dead Boys, Bad Brains, KJ, NY Dolls, etc. you realize what the feel is about.

More notes? Yes
More feel? No
