KISS To Guest On 'Late Show With David Letterman' - Sep. 27, 2012
According to Interbridge.com's "The Late Night TV Page", legendary rockers KISS will appear on the October 10 episode of "Late Show With David Letterman" on CBS. Check your local listings for details.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, the buzz is particularly strong for KISS' upcoming studio set, "Monster", due out on October 9. The collection, which is the band's first original studio set since 2009's "Sonic Boom", is the second to feature their latest lineup of Gene Simmons on bass, Paul Stanley on rhythm guitar, Eric Singer on drums, and lead guitarist Tommy Thayer. As with "Sonic Boom", production duties were handled by Stanley and Greg Collins. Collins is best known for his mixing and engineering work for such artists as U2, NO DOUBT and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, among others.

Stanley told The Pulse Of Radio that he's particularly excited with the material on "Monster", if for no other reason than it captures the band in a high point in its long and storied career. "With this album, we're totally at home with who we are, what we are, out past, present, and future," he said. "And I wanted us to take any blinders off so to speak. I wanted to unleash us, and let us be exactly who we are today. There's no getting away from our past — nor would we want to — but we're pumped! We're in top form, and the best way we can put it is, I didn't want us to make and album we once made, I wanted us to make the album we never made."

KISS will next appear with MÖTLEY CRÜE on Saturday (September 29) Mexico City, Mexico.

Letterman should introduce them as "The Pretenders" or "The Imposters"

Based on the 90 second samples of each track, it's actually better than Sonic Boom, which I was not expecting. To steal a line from RiotAct, first day buyer for sure!

But let's not argue over which Kiss album is best. Anyone with a brain knows its Creatures.

You got that right. Rock & Roll Over is the best for sure, and nicely recorded by Eddie Kramer. Dressed to Kill is also killer, nice smooth production, unlike Hotter Than Hell, which sounds like it was recorded for $10 in a garbage can...worst snare sound ever put down to tape, that's why they cleaned up the production big time with Dressed To Kill. Love Gun was the last true Kiss album, before Peter and Ace got too coked out. I have this feeling Monster is gonna blow.

I agree with most of what you said, except about Love Gun being the last true Kiss record just because Ace and Peter left (the band released several good records in the 80's and Revenge in '92) and Monster blowing....after listening to the 90 second clips on iTunes I am actually looking forward to it.

The first album is definitely great, because it was the first, but the recording/sound isn't what it should be, that's why I put Alive as the best because it contains most of the first record and sounds a lot better!

Best 70's studio album. Creatures-best 80's studio album. Revenge-best '90's studio album. Oh & fuck Eddie Trunk too.

R&R.O. was definitely the best. Kramer brought the best out of the band both recording wise and performance wise. Why they never used him again (but Ace did - his good friend) is a head scratcher.
I know Music from the Elder bombed out and Ace hated it, but personally, I think it has some of the best music they've ever written on it.
