ARTILLERY Announces New Singer - Sep. 26, 2012
Singer Søren Adamsen has left Danish thrash metal veterans ARTILLERY for personal reasons and has been replaced by Michael Bastholm Dahl. Michael has already played two successful shows with ARTILLERY in Denmark.

Commented Michael: "One thing I do know — I have been given the opportunity to join the most hard-hitting legendary thrash metal band of all time out of Denmark! Which means I'm going to go out and be the most frantic and hard-singing vocalist I can be! And following the renowned singers prior to me, in ARTILLERY's history, it's both a daunting and exciting challenge. I can't freakin' wait to go out and give it 100% together with the guys in ARTILLERY."

According to a press release, "Michael sings and performs with a lot of attitude and really likes the ARTILLERY thrashing style. He will contribute with his own style, but he can sing the classic ARTILLERY songs very close to the original singer and also deliver the hard-hitting vocals like Søren did."

The ARTILLERY song "The Almighty" featuring Michael Bastholm Dahl's vocals can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track was recorded at Medley studio with producer Søren Andersen.

ARTILLERY has already commenced work on new material and is planning to enter the studio in February 2013 to record its next album.

ARTILLERY's South American tour in November will feature the band's new lineup, which also includes drummer Josua Madsen alongside longtime bassist Peter Thorslund and founding members Morten and Michael Stützer on guitars.

I remember hearing a rumour that he left Artillery coz he just completely lost interest in singing metal but I dunno how true that is, I wish he'd return... Though for him to sing in that raw head voice style he used to would be quite a difficult task now considering his age

Flemming won't come back because he can't sing anymore. He was terrible back when the band had their first comeback and I highly doubt things have improved in 12 years.

I liked Soren a lot on "When Death Comes". Haven't heard the last one though, although I should give it a chance sometime.

Okay, this guy is awesome! I saw them at MDF X and although it was great to see them the singer just didn't fit, IMHO. Way too modern sounding for a band that had a metal singer, i.e. Halford/Udo style, for so many years.

It's a shame about Flemming but this guy is a perfect fit. I had been avoiding them for years because of their singer but now I'm actually excited about the new album.

I have been fan for years, but this is a all time low.
To me this is like, getting Joey Belladonna to sing for Exodus, or Joachim Cans, for Iron maiden.

Just listen to the old version of "The almighty", and then the new version, what a shame ...
