BAD BRAINS Announce New Album - Sep. 26, 2012
Iconic hardcore/punk band BAD BRAINS will release its new album, "Into The Future", on November 20 via Megaforce. The CD features the classic lineup of H.R. , Darryl Jenifer, Dr. Know and Earl Hudson.

"'Into The Future' is the purest BAD BRAINS recording since the ROIR cassette," says bassist Darryl Jenifer, referring to the early-'80s sound and energy that defined the band. "This self-produced record shines with a true sense of freedom and musical experimentation, with blends of soulful backgrounds meshed with blistering hardcore and metal riffs, with classic dub."

While searching for something epic and different, the band decided to self-produce the album and capture that spirit only the group itself could find. Included on the album is a remix of "Peace Be Unto Thee", a tribute to longtime fan, friend and producer Adam Yauch (BEASTIE BOYS), who marked the BAD BRAINS' return to form by producing their previous album, "Build A Nation".

The BAD BRAINS helped define American punk and hardcore music. Considered to be the holy grail of punk rock, they are one of the definitive American punk groups who garner the same respect as SEX PISTOLS, BLACK FLAG, RAMONES and THE CLASH.

Too cool. These guys have always been top notch. Their debut album is arguably one of the best debut albums that anyone could hope to make. Such amazing musicians.

their first album was way ahead of its time and had a great production for an early 80s punk recording.

True but they have been together like 5 or 6 years without any problems.

Build a nation was incredible. Aside from making an album without HR, these guys can do no wrong.

I have loved the Bad Brains for over 20 years. Bought every Lp as they come out..Got to see them a bunch back in the 80s when they were at their peak.
However
HR is out of his mind now..the guy barely sings.he mumbles the words to songs.
The band has always been spot on..but HR should be in an institution

Yeah, you should check out the youtube footage of Bad Brains live at Bonnaroo 2012...HR is wearing a blonde wig, Knee-high, leather boots, and a cowboy hat. Mumbling and incoherently strumming a guitar...it's quite shocking to see.

The guy is a genius, but madness has clearly taken over. The rest of BB still sound tight as hell though.

The last record, which was a little to polished for my taste so hearing that they're going old old school is a good deal!!

I saw HR live recently with his solo band. He's kept up his need to preach to the 'children' and enjoys playing music on a different 'level' these days.

Smoking pot to that degree is obviously not good, but I think he looks crazier than he really is. Not that he's a phony. He just gets into a zone, which others find very 'interesting.'

I love when black guys play music. Rap is whatever, but it seems a lost art that black people have real bands. Nothing I like more than seeing a man of color shredding a guitar. Jimi, Living Colour, Bad Brains, Body Count, Robert Randolph, and of course Buddy Guy and all the blues guys who still roam the earth. I like the Roots, though. It is rap / hiphop, but those guys know their schtick.

One of the tightest, most talented bands to ever come out of the 80's hardcore punk movement. Hugely inspirational as well. Their music has done so much for the aforementioned hardcore, thrash metal and even reggae/dub. Watching them play live is fuckin phenomenal, especially back in the day when they were young and fierce and all over the place. H.R. was a madman, and still is even though they've significantly reduced their energy level. However, the energy of the music has never missed a beat and that's really all that counts. Great to see they're still at it. Keep up the great work.

P.S. I've never been a reggae guy, but if I'm gonna listen to it, I go with these guys. It's a toss up between them and Blind Idiot God; another one of the most underrated bands in the history of hardcore punk reggae dub fusion, which is a genre with little to no contributors.
