PAUL STANLEY Says 'Monster' Is The Album KISS Has Never Made - Sep. 26, 2012
According to The Pulse Of Radio, the buzz is particularly strong for KISS' upcoming studio set, "Monster", due out on October 9. The collection, which is the band's first original studio set since 2009's "Sonic Boom", is the second to feature their latest lineup of Gene Simmons on bass, Paul Stanley on rhythm guitar, Eric Singer on drums, and lead guitarist Tommy Thayer. As with "Sonic Boom", production duties were handled by Stanley and Greg Collins. Collins is best known for his mixing and engineering work for such artists as U2, NO DOUBT and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, among others.

Stanley told The Pulse Of Radio that he's particularly excited with the material on "Monster", if for no other reason than it captures the band in a high point in its long and storied career. "With this album, we're totally at home with who we are, what we are, out past, present, and future," he said. "And I wanted us to take any blinders off so to speak. I wanted to unleash us, and let us be exactly who we are today. There's no getting away from our past — nor would we want to — but we're pumped! We're in top form, and the best way we can put it is, I didn't want us to make and album we once made, I wanted us to make the album we never made."

KISS will next appear with MÖTLEY CRÜE on Saturday (September 29) Mexico City, Mexico.

....it's so farking great being a KISS fan!!

It's been 32 years for me of following a band who CONTINUOUSLY has some going on - either it be a tour, album etc

Way better than being a Frehley and Criss fan hey??

Long live Kiss!

I'll still pick it up. Hope the rest of the tracks are much better than Hell of Hallelujah. I liked half of Sonic Boom.

What an idiotic thing to say.

I'd rather listen to the fewer and better albums by Ace than anything KISS has done since 1979.

After listening to the minute and a half clips on iTunes I am looking forward to hearing the full version of these songs....sounds like some of the strongest material they've made in a long time.

Maybe when the Monster tour starts the band will finally stop concentrting on the mid seventies. This will be the 14th. album released since 1977.

If you're so proud of the album then prove by playing the songs live.

It seems that the only albums you're proud of are your first 4 studio albums and the songs Lick it Up and I Love it Loud.

It always makes me feel ashamed that I was a member of the Kiss Army. Of course that was 35+ years ago so I cut myself some slack. The new album has some of the most insipid rhyming lyrics ever. My God this band has some of the simplest ideas in RnR

Um... "simplest ideas in RnR"... I believe that's their point. Not everything has to be a complex piece of work to be good.

I think everyone is tired of the set lists these days.
Play 4 or 5 from the new album and some stuff from Sonic Boom and Psycho Circus.. I liked the sets they did on the Cruise, play different shit.. Room Service, how about I Pledge Allegiance ...? whip out Unholy or Got Love for Sale.. and for the love of God.. give Tommy his own song.. not Shock Me.. how about
I'm Electric, or Zapped... but not Shock Me... poll the fans, they want to hear different stuff..

Well, it's because they took the riff to "Burn" and changed it up just a smidge. Same key, same guitar tone, pretty much the same speed. This is the album KISS never ade, because judging from this track it's the album Deep Purple made with Coverdale and Hughs.

good call, sounds a lot like Burn...Sort of generic sounding, but I'll give them a pass for legitimately making an effort to put out a solid hard rock song. As opposed to their 80's efforts with Desmond Child. Ripping off Burn is far better than ripping off the likes of Winger as they did in the 80s.

Since Ace's departure, Ki$$ has made mostly shit albums. Monster is destined to be shit. A monster pile of $onic Poop. Therefore, Paul $tanley is incorrect is saying that this is the album Ki$$ never made.

Yet I am also grounded in reality. If you go to the Peter Criss post you can read my opinion on the state of KISS and ACE And what a few idiots said on there. As far as this post, I have been a KISS fan for 38 years now. I was 13 when I discovered them on my own. Not to knock some people, but I love when I see "I got into KISS when I was 5 and I've grown up now". I was already listening to a lot of different stuff including Alice Cooper. In short, I became a fan of the "stage show" as much as the music. I just saw ACE on sept. 2nd and KISS last Saturday night. Guess what? ACE was Ace and KISS was KISS. They are both OLD! KISS were slow and strained, yet still GREAT at what they do. ACE was slow and strained, yet better than he has been in the past during his battles with substance abuse. (We were screwed by the venue for the ACE show and it was cut short, but the whole thing is on YouTube. I suggest looking it up. He seemed really into it and was playing great, so it sucked for the fans and probably him too. Brookhaven amphitheater is where it was). I have heard the clips of the new KISS album. I was impressed. I think it will be great. And hopefully the new ACE album will be great too. All I can say is thank god Tommy is not doing the "ACE solo" on this tour.

These guys are hyping themselves even when they know they don't have the goods. Stanley cannot sing anymore, the new songs are not likely to be memorable. Kiss, though once great in the 70's, is now full of shit in 2012. The bombs are old too. S T A L E.
