LINKIN PARK First Rock Band To Get One Billion Hits On YouTube - Sep. 24, 2012
According to The Pulse Of Radio, LINKIN PARK has become the first rock band to receive more than one billion hits on YouTube. Most of those have been at LinkinParkTV, the group's official YouTube channel. The group's 2009 single from the soundtrack of "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen", "New Divide", scored more than 131 million hits alone. The next biggest rock acts on YouTube are the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and GREEN DAY, with 327 million and 245 million views respectively on their channels.

The first artist to reach one billion views was LADY GAGA, who achieved it in 2010. She was later surpassed by JUSTIN BIEBER, who has racked up an unbelievable 2.8 billion hits. RIHANNA has also gone well over the one billion mark.

LINKIN PARK recently concluded the 2012 Honda Civic Tour, which it co-headlined with INCUBUS, and next heads to South America for a series of dates in Argentina and Brazil.

The band has been on the road behind its fifth studio album, "Living Things", which is closing in on sales of 500,000 copies since coming out in June.

None from me either. I'll admit that I did buy the first album when it came out, back in the day. I couldn't tell you the location of said copy, though.

What's more amazing is that they can have over a billion hits on YouTube and less than 500,000 album sales. That's not even gold status. Most of their fans probably don't even own an album.

I'd hardly consider Linkin Park rock. Having "guitars" in your music doesn't make you rock.

Also, I was going to make a joke about them being on the Honda Civic Tour, but that in itself is a punchline.

How the hell are they even a rock band anymore? In fact when were they ever a rock band after their first two albums? They jumped in to the scene with nu metal and very quickly sold out to mainstream and played pop.

Avril Lavigne has guitars in some of her songs, so does Pink, are they also going to start popping up on this site as 'rock artists'?

I for one am beginning to struggle to find a recent LP song that even features guitars and real drums now. Rock? No. Pop, yes.

The only 'rock moment' I appreciated from this band was the bridge of 'Faint', and that lasts a total of what, 15 seconds?

LP, go back to your old sound and stop trying to be slightly heavier Coldplay.

Typical bitchy Blabbermouth folks that would rather see it go to Beiber than Linkin Park are people I wouldn't want talking to me about music...Your opinions are now voided.

Don't be bringing Lady Gaga down by comparing her to crap rock like LP here. Haha. That's my genre for boring bands like LP and Coldplay and such. Also Bon Jovi is awesome, just a bandwagon jumper over there I see.

Actually has some fucking pipes on him. Also at least LP actually do write their own songs, loops, etc. I know cause I remember when they were actually called Hybrid Theory but then actually ended up naming their 1st album that. I'd rather see them with more hits than lets say than half the shit that is poular right now...
