TRENT REZNOR's HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS Signs With COLUMBIA RECORDS - Sep. 21, 2012
HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS — the project featuring NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor and his wife Mariqueen Maandig (ex-WEST INDIAN GIRL) along with frequent NIN collaborator Atticus Ross and NIN's longtime graphic designer Rob Sheridan — has inked a deal with Columbia Records for the release of a new EP and full-length album.

HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS' second EP, "An Omen EP", will be made available on November 13 and will contain six songs, some of which will also appear on the upcoming LP, to be issued early next year.

"Regarding our decision to sign with Columbia," Treznor noted in his Facebook announcement, "we've really spent a long time thinking about things and it makes sense for a lot of reasons, including a chance to work with our old friend Mark Williams. There's a much more granular and rambling answer I could give (and likely will in an interview someplace), but it really comes down to us experimenting and trying new things to see what best serves our needs. Complete independent releasing has its great points but also comes with shortcomings."

HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS released a self-titled EP in 2010, and covered BRYAN FERRY's "Is Your Love Strong Enough?" for the soundtrack to "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" (scored by Reznor and Ross).

"An Omen EP" unconfirmed track listing:

01. Keep It Together
02. Ice Age
03. On The Wing
04. The Sleep Of Reason Produces Monsters
05. The Loop Closes
06. Speaking In Tongues

1st ep was excellent. If you like them, check out Chiasm & Collide.

Good band, sort of massive attack-ish but with the dark ambient sounds of the ghosts album and the 2 recent soundtracks

I knew it was coming. I guess divorce is imminent when this flops then?

Holy crap, Trent.

I'm sure there must be a lot of 15 year old kids that are glad about this.

When music or grown-ups is considered to be Rascal Flatts or Kenny Chesney, I'll take the 15-year old stuff anyday.

It's OK, mid 90's when I was 15 I was like you and liked NIN and Marylin Manson but then I turn 16 and corrected the error of my ways.

You have to admit, Mrs Reznor is one of the most beautiful transexuals you'll ever see outside of Thailand

Good for Trent !

He's in great shape, he's happy , and he's back making big bucks on a major label.

Just wish he'd put together a 3hr documentary spanning the entire history of NIN as a touring act - from Lollapalooza I - all the way thru to Lights In The Sky and NINJA2009.

Her voice was kind of annoying on the first EP. It sounded like she was trying too hard and Trent probably knows this but she kind of kept whining and he finally gave in. However, I understand he wants to do other shit outside the constraints of NIN so power to him. At least he doesn't taint NIN with stuff like this. He keeps the beans on this side of the plate and the carrots on the other. I can live with that.

And I must agree with others on here: Let's get a throwback NIN record going on...Broken..Sprial..some nostalgia for the fans.

honestly I'd rather have a movie soundtrack than How to Destroy Angels or NIN. I thought the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack was brilliant, and the Social Network one was pretty good too

I'm no fan boy of Reznor, but I think he has immense talent and give anything he does a chance. Some I really don't like but some I really love. The first EP had some good moments. He reminds me a little of Maynard for some reason.
