AEROSMITH Guitarist Says He Is A 'Definite Old-School Republican' - Sep. 19, 2012
AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry recently told AOL's Noisecreep that he's a "definite old-school Republican" who believes that politics has become more about branding than ideas. As he explained, "I was taught that you get what you put into it. You can be anything you want to be if you work hard enough at it, and you can earn your place. That's the old way. Now, it's all meshed together and you can barely figure out one side from the other."

He continued, "My favorite president was actually John Kennedy. Oh, and Eisenhower. I don't think we've had anyone like those guys since Reagan, but you need somebody you can believe in.

"Look, I didn't believe in everything Kennedy said or did, but you believed in your heart that he was really there and he was going to stand up for what he believed in. That's what is most important. Today they say one thing one day, and another thing another day. You can't figure these guys out.

"The bottom line is I'm a definite old school Republican and you can put that in there. I was one of the few people that came out for McCain and got a lot of shit for it.

"There's an awful lot of people out there in L.A. that were jumping up and down for Obama that aren't right now. It's just what it is. So much of this stuff is politicizing, what the media does is so much about selling a product. It makes me kind of nuts.

"This band has always has had a policy we're all pretty much on the same page when new start talking politics. We all came up in that era when you were taught that can do anything you set your minds to and by God we walked on the moon, just like JFK said we would."

Below: Joe Perry tweet from February 2012

fuck aerosmith, and fuck american idol.

remember when everyone lifted your sorry ass up by buying your record. What do you really do? Build hospitals? Grow corn? You do nothing for something. By the way, thanks for Pink. oh yea, and the armagedon song.

Yeah, lets give the people that have all the money more money, great idea. I'm glad being rich entitles you to free money, and being poor entitles you to no money. Apparently, thinking you are entitled to food, shelter, health care is socialism. Forcing me to pay rich people my taxes is freedom.

shut up and die already

Republicans don't think anyone should help anyone do anything. They don't care that some people are born into poverty, born with lesser opportunities, to them if you just work hard you can achieve the "American dream", whatever the fuck that is. Democrats. They don't get that the game is rigged against some people, and people need help. There's always going to be someone taking advantage of the system, but Republicans use that to stir hate among their supporters. Fuck them.

Do you really believe that, though?

People like to name drop Ron Paul.... but, I wonder if it's because he's the odd man out--the underdog who can't win. It's easier to SAY you're supporting someone who won't win, just so you can say "see, I told ya...we should have voted for my guy and everything would be better".

Truth is, Ron Paul isn't all that great either when you get right down to it. Saying "we wouldn't be in the heap of shit we are in" if he was elected is just your imagination running wild. Wishful thinking. One guy can't wave a magic wand and solve all the nations ills... I think we've all learned that by now.

Repubs and Dems are both in allegiance to the same corrupt NWO bankster bosses and big pharma, not we the people. We need a new party or Ron Paul. Romney = Obama = corrupt douchebags that are taking away our freedoms to a ridiculous degree all over the phony alibi of phony, false flag "terrorism". We are not under attack IN THE LEAST, they have to make up phony boogeymen to "protect us" from to stay in their evil wars, which strangely is how they make trillions, while we go broke and get molested or go through microwave cancer body scanners at the airports and have poison vaccines and toxic, phony pills pushed down our throats to dumb us down...they've made we the innocent citizens the enemy! Btw, all body scanners are being scrapped in Europe, they found out they lied to us and they emit 10,000 times more radiation than a full chest X-ray.

Obama and Romney are beholden to their evil gangs, things will get worse with a full police state with either of them. Romney's on the same side as Obama on 99% of the issues...they both support the unconstitutional NDAA act, which gives the fed the right to put innocent American civilians in prison forever without any miranda rights or legal recourse based on suspicion alone, with no checks and balances. This is what the nazi's used to do. Petty bi-partisan bickering is a distraction from the fact BOTH DEMS AND REPUBS ARE RUN BY THE SAME CRIMINALS, giving the illusion of a democratic process. Also, for decades now, the elections have been RIGGED. A vote for either repubs or dems is a wasted vote and will amount to the TSA and DHS UP YOUR ASS at the airport, on the roads, buses, and trains, and a collapsed economy, as they both support the corrupt federal reserve, who destroyed our money supply ON PURPOSE. Both parties are run by war mongering, liberty robbing global fascist commie's, who have infiltrated the US state dept in the 1950's and now run the whole government...Doubt this? Take a look around and also see how the mainstream media lies 24/7 on TV for these criminals.

Allow me.

The 10th Amendment states that all powers not specifically granted in the Constitution are reserved to the states. If you can't see the dozens of examples of Dems, including appointed judges (starting with Darby v. US in 1941) blatantly ignoring that limitation on the Federal Government, you'll never learn it here.

The 2nd Amendment specifically guarantees the right to bear arms. Do you know very many Dems that support that one?

The 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of speech, assembly, and religion. With Obamacare (also violating the 10th), the Catholic Church is being forced to provide contraception in violation of its tenets.

The federal government is there to protect us from external enemies, not to redistribute our wealth in a manner that pleases Barack Obama.

Sooooooo he's voting for the guy whose parents paid for his prep school, college, grad school, AND his first home over the guy who was raised by a single mother on food stamps and put himself through Harvard Law School (the loans for which he just finally paid off 10 years ago).

There's never been a greater contrast between the two sides as there is now, if you're including actual conservatives, and not what makes up most of the Rep party that is. The media sellign a product sums it up pretty well too. They are embarassign themselves pretty badly at this point. Snake oil sells...and who's buying? The drones.

Yeah, actually, Romney is a bad person in part because everything early on was handed to him. The asshole was born on third base, pretends he hit a triple, and then wants to talk about OTHER people feeling entitled to things? He wants to claim "he built that"?

unfortunatley the psot above about the 2 parties is a “wasted vote” is actually correct. You can work that out for yourselves in america by looking at the organisations that both Obama and Romney are members of. For one you can see that most of both party ministers and cabinet members belong to the Council of Foriegn Relations group headed by and set up by Rockefeller. They all attend meetings with the head of TIME magazine and other large news agencies and all sorts of leaders to “discuss” policy in ‘general”. Essentially you are voting for the same movement who have a central agreement that gets carried through regrdless of who wins. This is the charade! America has a problem not with its “economy” but its “economies” there are 2. One is the super elite rich and the other other is the rest of the citizens, this type of plutonomy exists. The super rich have not suffered any recession and are in fact wealthier than they were several years ago but the rest suffer grinding unemployment and various degrees of instability and it is this economy that is causing a burden on the super rich economy. Only 2 things can happen in a plutonomy - the super rich either start to slowly crush dessent from the lower classes in a multitude of forms OR tehy start to share. My guess is on the former and not the latter...

I love how you people bashing have done zero reading on what a republican is "about". Instead you repeat whatever the media tells you they think, instead of talking to one. This is why you are hypocrite sheep. It's like asking a hate group about the thing they hate. And taking their opinion lock, stock and barrel.

Ignore the leaders in office, learn from history, not from the media.
