MOTÖRHEAD's 'Overkill' Remembered In New App And eBook - Sep. 14, 2012
By 1979, MOTÖRHEAD had mid-sized Bronze to give them a little substance in their lives, and the guys would not take the opportunity lightly, crafting "Overkill" — the most brutally rocking album the world had seen to date.

A new one-dollar app and eBook tell the story of the making of MOTÖRHEAD's "Overkill".

Author Martin Popoff explains: "This 'making-of' essay is one of my longer, more involved ones, featuring exclusive commentary from the elusive Philthy Animal Taylor and most richly Fast Eddie Clarke, who really leans into the telling of the tale.

"Fond memories of getting this album, stumbling across it at Strawberry Jams in Spokane as a new release, instantly but briefly driving me mad right there in the store, 'cos the Snaggletooth graphic had suddenly exploded into colour, in contrast with the basic frontage of the band's sooty debut.

"The 'Overkill' app and eBook also includes a nice gaggle of memorabilia shots plus some unseen live photography from my personal archive."

"Ye Olde Metal: Motörhead's Overkill" is available as a 27-page eBook in high-resolution PDF format from www.zunior.com and as an app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch in the iTunes App store.

Y&T's "Black Tiger" is also available as an app and eBook in the Ye Olde Metal single-album series.

Overkill is much better. Better songs, faster and heavier than Bomber.
The title track (next to Exciter by Judas Priest, probably the first song ever where double-bass drums were used extensively), Damage Case, Capricorn, Like a Nightmare, Stay Clean and No Class are my favorites.

The new live version of 'The World Is Ours, Vol. 1' is insanely good. All Hail Motorhead.

For God's sake Lemmy. Please record a proper Motorhead album with Eddie and Phil before its too late! If you really play music for the fans you have to do this. I've met you, I've partied with you, no offense to phillip campbell and dee but fans want to hear the real Motorhead.

Why don't you just call the band something else like "Iron Fist and hordes from hell" and just do a proper album with Eddie and Phil.

We need to know what would have happened after the IRON FIST album.

Terrible sorry if I offended anyone.
