HELLOWEEN: New Album Title, Release Date Announced - Sep. 13, 2012
German power metallers HELLOWEEN have set "Straight Out Of Hell" as the title of their new album, due on January 18, 2013. The CD is once again being helmed by longtime producer Charlie Bauerfeind at HELLOWEEN singer Andi Deris's Mi SueƱo Studios in Tenerife, Spain. A limited-edition version of the album will be made available with bonus tracks and special packaging.

HELLOWEEN previously promised that its new new album would be "much more than a fine follow-up to the highly acclaimed 'Gambling With The Devil' and '7 Sinners' albums. Bombastic epic pieces have been worked on as well as ultrafast heavy songs and mid-tempo anthems."

HELLOWEEN will join forces with GAMMA RAY for the "Hellish Rock Part II" tour starting in March.

"7 Sinners", the 13th studio album from HELLOWEEN, sold around 1,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 7 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

I agree. It's a shame that they don't seem to have that big of an impact sales-wise in the US, but as long as they keep crankin out albums like the last few, I'll be happy.

These guys are criminally under-rated. Gambling With the Devil was a kick ass album. I thought 7 Sinners was good, but not as strong. Both albums have killer production, though. I really hope they tour the States!

Is still my favorite, but Helloween is still cranking out music that totally blows away most American "metal" bands.

Helloween kicks serious butt. There's just no other power metal band that can compare to them. I'm really looking forward to the next album. Hope it will have a lot of great songs, like the three Keeper-albums did.

They're a good band but they haven't been Helloween IMO since the 90s when Kiske and Hansen left the band.

musically Weiki is a great guitarist and can still deliver the riffs (not counting the unfortunate "joke/funny" songs that pollute many of their albums) but the vocals are still a big turn-off for me. Just my personal ears - if you like Deris more power to you (literally). But for me, the vocals grate enough that I must remain happy with the brilliant early stuff. And there's Gamma Ray which I love, although their last couple have started to sound a bit stale IMO. But I've always loved Kai's vocals. Why do I love Kai's raspy voice and can't stand Deris' raspy voice? I don't really know - Kai has so much character to his voice, or maybe it's just because I grew up with him on the amazing mini-LP Helloween and Walls of Jerico (& Judas of course).

This band is consistent and the last couple of albums are plain amazing. I am sure they are going for it on this one, hail the Pumpkins!!!!!!

I agree about the joke-songs, like "Rise and Fall" from Keeper II. They are mostly a painful waste of time.

I think the key to getting into Deris' vocals is to stay clear of the songs that don't work (with Helloween there are always songs that don't work), and don't compare him to Kiske at all.

Kiske had an amazing crystal clear range, but he wasn't perfect either. There are days when his vocals are just too much. But they both are brilliant at their best.

They are just completely different. It's like Dickinson and Di'Anno. Both had wonderful qualities, but none of them could probably sing eachother's songs. Not that Di'Anno ever tried.

My tip is to kind of see post-Kiske Helloween as a completely different band. 'Cause they are just as good now as they ever were, just very different. And they are one of the few 80's bands that still can deliver the goods.

I personally think they deserve kudos for being able to step out of the typical helloween/power-metal style and create grooves and riffs that sounds like traditional heavy metal. That's why I love them. If they were all double-bass drum I would grow tired pretty fast.
