LED ZEPPELIN: 'Celebration Day' DVD Trailer Released; More Details Revealed - Sep. 13, 2012
LED ZEPPELIN will release a film version of its 2007 reunion gig at the end of November. Titled "Celebration Day", the film will feature footage from the band's reunion gig in aid of the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun.

"Celebration Day" will see a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on 1,500 screens in over 40 territories on October 17. The theatrical screenings will follow premieres in London, Los Angeles, New York, and other major cities. Tickets for the public screenings will be available on September 13 via LedZeppelin.com. "Celebration Day" will then be available in multiple video and audio formats on November 19 from Swan Song/Atlantic Records. Specific product details will be announced soon.

On December 10, 2007, LED ZEPPELIN took the stage at London's O2 Arena to headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band's signature blues-infused rock 'n' roll that instantly became part of the legend of LED ZEPPELIN.

Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their celebrated catalogue including landmark tracks "Whole Lotta Love", "Rock And Roll", "Kashmir" and "Stairway To Heaven".

Although 20 million people applied for tickets, the band's first headline show in 27 years was seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery.

Jason Bonham, who has officially drummed with LED ZEPPELIN several times, beginning with the Atlantic Records 40th anniversary concert in 1988, told The Pulse Of Radio at the time that he never assumed that the job of taking over for his father was automatically his. "I had to work at it, really prove that I could do it, and not just say, 'Hey, I'm John Bonham's son, I should be doing it,'" he said. "You've got to earn this, 'cause there's a million drummers out there that would love to cut your throat right now and take over.'"

"Celebration Day" track listing:

01. Good Times, Bad Times
02. Ramble On
03. Black Dog
04. In My Time Of Dying
05. For Your Life (live debut)
06. Trampled Underfoot

This is a must have. The chemistry was still there, and Bonham did a great job. Who cares if they tuned down? I bet tons of artists tune down these days. At least Robert wasn't using auto tune..

I think its good, but I for one do care that its tuned down. It makes the songs sound tired...I'm not complaining, or being anti Zep, one of my all time favs, but it effects the songs a lot...the guitar sounds hot wired though, great tone, and I've watched many bootleg clips, they play well.

I also respect Plant for knowing his limitations, and wanting to move forward with his music career. He still wants to be creative. (I realize most dislike his solo career now, or the Raising Sand CD, I think they are solid though).

The best music Robert Plant had done was 'Shaken & Stirred'. It was ahead of its time and grossly under-appreciated.

I liked it at the time. It might sound a bit dated now...not saying his newer stuff is his best solo stuff, but overall, people on this site trash it, and him for not wanting to do a reunion. He's the one saying he can't do those songs justice anymore.

I think he does fine on the songs from Graffitti, on. He had lost some range on Graffitti. but the early stuff, he can't touch that anymore. Tuning down totally compromises the song. Love Zep, Plant, but I for one think this is just "ok". This was a band that was a powerhouse, and Plant in particular, has always wanted to keep that image and legacy intact. I respect that. It was a young man's band, the energy(especially on the early stuff) of young men.

but not raining on people's parade that are just happy to see them together. But I like more. Like seeing the Stones, and Mick has a girl do the screaming part on "monkey man". well, what's the point then? It was cool when HE did it. Can't do it anymore, time to at least retire the song.

...pretty much becomes a necessity. Every man's voice deepens with age and the top notes get shaved off our vocal ranges--especially someone like Plant, who abused the shit out of his touring in the seventies. I'm glad they tuned down to accommodate his current voice, rather than have him squeak and crack out sour notes a la Ian Gillan and Chris Cornell. Sure, you lose the air raid siren wail that we all love, but at the same time we won't be cringing at an old man trying to hit the high notes he did in his 20's. A fair trade if you ask me!

I watched a Youtube cellphone video of the whole concert yesterday, and I tell you what... he still DOES do the wail in some parts, and it gives you goosebumps. He stays in the low register for the first couple tunes, but then kinda gets higher as the show goes on. He nailed it - especially for a 70 year old dude.

Excellent points on singer's voices, man.

What is funny about the show itself - more people (then were there) claim to have been there. People are weird.

I'm looking forward to seeing this at a theater.

They sure didn't skip over the tough songs. They put out any and every song they wanted. You have to give it up to Bonham for playing a lot of tough songs.

Holy shit, listen to those bass pedals on Kashmir! This sounds fucking badass, of course it would be better with the drum master Bonzo, but at least there's Bonzo DNA behind the drums...and Jason pounded the shit out of his drums on this gig. "For Your Life" is gonna sound killer, trust me. The only thing I'm worried about is whether they will release a blu-ray , not just regular DVD.

I'll buy the DVD at midnight if I can and see it in a theater before it's released. Sep can do no wrong. Just wish I could erase puff douche daddy and selling coca cola from my memory.
