GUNS N' ROSES To Perform At NEIL YOUNG's 'Bridge School' Benefit - Sep. 7, 2012
GUNS N' ROSES will perform at Neil Young's 26th annual Bridge School benefit concerts on October 20-21 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. Also scheduled to appear are Young and his band CRAZY HORSE, Jack White, THE FLAMING LIPS, Sarah McLachlan, FOSTER THE PEOPLE, Lucinda Williams, Steve Martin and the STEEP CANYON RANGERS, K.D. Lang and SISS BOOM BANG, and Gary Clark Jr.

The Bridge School, which was co-founded by Young's wife Pegi, works to help people with physical and speech impairments through alternate methods of communication, including music therapy. Each year, Young, who has two handicapped sons, gathers a cross-section of performers to perform acoustically to benefit the school.

Tickets, priced from $35-$150, go on sale on September 14 at 10 a.m. through LiveNation.com, by calling (800) 745-3000 and at the Shoreline Amphitheatre box office.

Watch the Bridge School benefit announcement below.

GNR mid 90's to current = OVER RATED, NAME ONLY, COVER BAND.

They better do the show on a friday or saturday night because GNR won't start until 1am and everyone will be too tired for school the next day.

I can just see Axhole jumping into the crowd, punching a girl who is in a wheelchair then saying he is going home because the deaf kids are not singing along.

Maybe Neil didn't get the memo...this ain't Guns n Roses. It's the Axl Rose cover band, and Axl is a bigger (literally) prima donna than he was in the early '90's and yes, he WILL show up late. This is the equivalent of inviting Geoff Tate's new "Queensryche" to the Bridge School.

I don't think his career has exactly been spellbinding since GNR, but if he's playing the music he wants he's not a hack.

... can't get into the Axl hate on this post. He's doing something to help a charity, so he gets a pass this time.

However, I will agree that he needs to get his ass on stage at an appropriate time for this one.

I can tell you one thing, gnr WILL hit the stage on time at this gig. Mr. Young has had his issues through the years but will not tolerate bullsh#t from a prima donna.

is one of those places with the big fines after 11pm, so he has to be on time or not play at all. It would suck up all of the profits made for the cause.

THIS CONCERT IS ALWAYS A GREAT TIME. I LOOK FORWARD TO IT EVERY YEAR.

I DON'T THINK AXL WILL FUCK THIS ONE OFF. NEIL YOUNG IS HIGHLY RESPECTED IN THE MUSIC COMMUNITY AND NO ONE WANTS TO BE THE ONE WHO PISSES OFF UNCLE NEIL.

Here's hoping that Axl Rose and George Lucas double team you little bitches who are still complaining that they raped your childhood. Close your eyes, make a mind movie of your "special place" and let the good times roll!

Too little, too late.
Axl Rose could turn his mansion into a school for deaf puppies and I'd still know beyond a shadow of a doubt; that guy is an asshole.

Most musicians who have played The Bridge School benefit gigs will tell you how great it and how much of an honor it is to be asked to play. Neil Young is a demigod. There's simply no one else like him. Totally follows the beat of his own drummer, and he does what he wants musically. A true influence and inspiration on so many. I wish I could go and see one of these gigs. That would be totally killer.
