ALICE COOPER, MIKE PORTNOY, JORDAN RUDESS Confirmed For Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp - Sep. 7, 2012
Alice Cooper, Mike Portnoy (ADRENALINE MOB, FLYING COLORS, DREAM THEATER) and Jordan Rudess (DREAM THEATER) have been confirmed for the Rock 'N Roll Fantasy Camp's next Las Vegas event, set to take place February 14-18 at the MGM Grand.

Remember "Welcome To My Nightmare"? Well, now it's time for "welcome to your fantasy" as the king of shock-rock-n-roll Alice Cooper descends upon the Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp. No More Mr. Nice Guy? Not really, because he's here to make your rock and roll dreams come true. If you live for metal, glitter, glam and classic rock, then school is definitely IN this Presidents Day. You remember the anthems, the makeup and the boa constrictor. This was metal theater before KISS, BOWIE or any other number of artists that followed. This is the original. This is the Coop — live and in person to hang with you, jam with you and treat you all like his Billion Dollar Babies.

If that weren't enough, campers will get to witness first hand one of music's most accomplished and award winning, self-taught drummers Mike Portnoy, whose progressive metal sound is uniquely influenced by THE BEATLES, LED ZEPPELIN, RUSH, QUEEN, IRON MAIDEN and THE WHO. Portnoy's former band DREAM THEATER is best known for the technical proficiency of its instrumentalists, so it is no surprise that campers will be wowed by his metal, pop and straight rock style drumming but also inspired by his skills on the bass, keys and guitar.

So grab your guitars, guillotines, drumsticks and electric chairs for a musician's dream that can only be made real in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. You will meet and work with these amazing headliners as well as perform live on stage with over 15 legendary rock stars. This experience is so amazing, you'll need your professionally recorded song and DVD of your live performance to prove you came, conquered and actually lived the dream. Reserve your space as camp fills up quickly.

I love how this passes for an actual article; it's clearly an advert that's been copied and pasted. Nice job, Bori!

My rock n roll fantasy has more girls and less Alice Cooper.

Is there a golf course at this camp? Alice can work on his swing.

..., RnRFC might not be a band, but its a gig where he gets paid to be a pro , the project with Billy Sheehan and Richie Kotzen, Flying Colors, Adrenaline Mob,plus there is a gig with Billy Sheehan, Derek Sherinian & Tony Macalpine, too. So you can say Im full of shit, and there is no need to apologize, but you're wrong.

Dream Theater should have a record where Alice Cooper sings for them. Think about it. "A Nightmare to Remember" meets "Brutal Planet"? Could be awesome.

It will never happen but still.

" This was metal theater before KISS, BOWIE or any other number of artists that followed. "

Nope. David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust came out in 1972, the same year as Alice Cooper's School's Out. David Bowie did NOT follow Alice Cooper.

But I guess reality doesn't matter when you're making a cash grab.

The fidget drummer needs attention since all of his 800 projects are going nowhere and he needs to be wanted and someone from DT will be there, you know DT that excellent band he left because he thought he was special lol

... is his own favorite drummer. I like a lot of the stuff he does, but he's SO full of himself. His own biggest fan. So much for humility.

Has anybody seen the prices to go to this thing? Unfair for us working stiffs that would love to hang with their idols.

Cooper was first. First of all KILLER was '71 and he was already hanging himself. As a matter of fact love it to death was before that and he was being electrocuted. And if you go back even farther in '69 they were dressing glam and doing shit onstage. And if you want to go even farther back in high school they were playing with a giant spider web back drop. That was like '66. I believe it is even stated somewhere that Bowie saw cooper before he did Ziggy. But I guess it doesn't really matter when you're a little biased. Lol. It's all good.

Bowie's first album came out in 1967.

So, no - Bowie did not come after Cooper as the story falsely suggests.

Everybody's avoiding the most "important" thing with this story/article. Well, I'll ask it myself: is Portnoy still friends with Rudess? considering the break wasn't amicable, and Portnoy even stated "if they really continue the band without me, it's going to cause major damage to our relationship".

Anyway, if they're passed their break up issues, well, I'm happy for them, and that they can actually work / be together again in other ventures.

It was referring to rock theater, and so were you with Ziggy. I never said coopers first album came before Bowies. Its a fact I've read...Bowie took his stage performance to another level AFTER seeing Alice cooper. Like I said, it's all good. Really.

Lay down $9000 to spend time with arrogant musicians that think they are God's gift to music and humanity. They will look down on you every moment. Bleed you fans dry of their money. Internet rock n roll at its worst.
