SEVENDUST Begins Recording New Album - Sep. 6, 2012
SEVENDUST has entered Architekt Music studios in Butler, New Jersey with engineer Mike Ferretti to begin recording its ninth album for an early 2013 release.

A one-minute clip from the first day of the recording sessions can be seen below.

SEVENDUST's latest CD, "Cold Day Memory", sold around 27,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The band's previous effort, "Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow", opened with 25,000 units back in April 2008 to land at position No. 19.

"Cold Day Memory" was released on April 20, 2010 on the band's own 7Bros. Records, through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group. The CD — produced by Grammy Award winner Johnny K (DISTURBED, STAIND, 3 DOORS DOWN, PLAIN WHITE T'S) — was the group's first new album with its original lineup back together with Lowery's return after his departure in 2003.

CALL ME NO ONE — the new project featuring Lowery and SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose — released its debut album, "Last Parade", on June 5. The CD's first single, "Biggest Fan", was made available to purchase on iTunes on April 24.

SEVENDUST guitarist John Connolly and bassist Vince Hornsby also recently launched a new project, joining forces with CREED/ALTER BRIDGE drummer Scott Phillips in a new outfit called PROJECTED.

PROJECTED has already completed recording its debut disc, "Human", to be released September 18 on Connolly's own Yaya Papu LLC label.

Ive never really been able to grasp these dudes and i dont really know why. It seems like all the peices are in place for them to make really good music but for some reason they only go at it half assed most of the time. Maybe its because their drummer annoys me with his stupid screamo backing vocals and his gay looking hair. The singer is decent and hel be singing and then all the sudden here comes them damn scremo vocals from that dude behind the kit with the gay dreads and it just fucks the song up. I guess that they are still better than Godsmack , Disturbed and Korn so that stands for something maybe.

Agree with the gist of your post... other than the first 2-3 albums, everything else misses the mark. However, whether you like Korn or not, 7Dust are not even worthy to be a pimple on their arse!

Bring it on. I am a total sucker for Sevendust, even the last few albums. Nothing can touch Animosity though (for me).

but I'm a sucker for Sevendust too. I love these guys. They can only be truly appreciated live. When they line up 15 of their best songs, it makes a pretty kick ass list. Can't wait to hear what they do on this album.

I've loved most of all of their work put out even while Clint wasn't in the band. Next and Alpha have some bad ass songs on them and the last couple have had a few as well! I'm looking forward to this coming out because it seems like maybe they took more time in the writing process and it will show on the next record hopefully. Like another person put though, nothing touches Animosity. I've been a fan since the original ST came out and this band means alot to me so I'm glad to see them still together doing their thing...not many bands make it to their 2nd album much less 9th...

Well this is unexpected!! I thought that the next new I heard about them would be about a breakup. Love this band!! I agree Animosity is their best work. Some of their latter cd's take a few listens to appreciate. I also agree that they are a FANTASTIC live band. Take the top few songs of each album and they are a monster band.

No one else is showing the love so we have to say, Seasons was a great album. Either way, we're happy to see them producing more music.

The best one is the first one, then Animosity for me. I would say Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow was the third best, though the vocal style did 'ruin' that for me. Not enough of the harsher vocals, and too much clean singing on riffs that were clearly written for harsher vocals, still my third favourite though.
Seasons was the worst.
