LAMB OF GOD Announces eBay Memorabilia Auction for RANDY BLYTHE Defense Fund - Aug. 29, 2012
While LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe is back home in America after five weeks in prison in the Czech Republic, his legal problems are far from over. Manslaughter charges are still hanging over Blythe, and at some point over the next few months he will have to return to Prague and stand trial. Faced with continuing massive legal bills, LAMB OF GOD has decided to create an eBay auction of equipment and memorabilia to raise money for Randy's legal bills. All equipment was either used on tour or in the recording studio or in a video. The auction features items provided by all five members of LAMB OF GOD. In addition, a number of musicians have offered equipment to be used in the auction. Guitars have been donated by MACHINE HEAD's Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel as well as Slash and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. MEGADETH's David Ellefson and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's Chris Kael have each contributed a bass and the members of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH also have contributed a signed skateboard.

Justice Now, the site set up for donations, will remain open for those wishing to donate to Randy's defense fund.

LAMB OF GOD appreciates all of the support Randy has received since his arrest on June 28 and is thankful for all of the donations that have been made in these tough economic times.

As stated before, without the fans, there is no LAMB OF GOD.

Blythe was released from a prison in Prague on August 2, more than a month after he was arrested and incarcerated. Blythe was facing the possibility of conviction and a long-term jail sentence after a 2010 incident in which a fan attending a LAMB OF GOD show died almost a month later, allegedly from injuries sustained when he was thrown off the stage. Blythe's predicament galvanized the heavy rock community, with artists across the hard rock genre pledging their support.

Interviewed by a Czech media outlet before boarding the plane to go home, Blythe said, "I'm relieved to be out of jail but if it's necessary for me to return to Prague to go to this court thing, I certainly will, I'm no flight risk."

Blythe added that he had no memory at all of the incident in question, saying, "I feel very bad that a fan of my band is dead and his family has to go through it, it's terrible, I feel awful for them but it's a tragic coincidence . . . we had no knowledge whatsoever that someone had been injured much less died."

The case is expected to be heard in court in December.

LAMB OF GOD returned to the live stage on August 17 in Council Bluffs, Iowa as part of SLIPKNOT's first-ever Knotfest, an extraordinary two-date metal and hard rock festival.

Blythe and his bandmates are already rescheduling a canceled U.S. tour for October.

No thanks. I'll keep my money, thank you. Seen enough scams in my lifetime.

He makes more money than me, anyway. Let him pay his own damn bills! I never saw him donate to my fucking electric bill or grocery fund.

I wouldn't call it a scam. It's an opportunity for fans to get a piece of memorabilia of a band they like and help out in the process. Legal fees are out of control in most places in the world, let alone when you're dealing with not just another individual, but an actual government.

Basically if you don't like Lamb of God, Randy, etc. then this is obviously not for you.

You have to be kidding me. In my 43 yrs of life I have never seen a major label band beg for money.

If it was any of the other band members I would probably help out. No way in hell am I giving money to a guy who is a dick.

He can mow my yard for a year and I will give him money.

Not a scam in the basic sense, but still not without 'trickery' or an underhanded touch. Who ever is running the auction is most likely upping the bids - it is a common problem with ebay.

If I was going to donate money it would be to someone who can't afford it...like orphaned children or something. Not some goofball half-ass "rockstar" who will probably just smoke up the funds with his pals on Friday night after the show.

In past Blabberposts about this whole stupid "Randy thing", it mentions that he makes $100,000 a year. I make about 27,000 a year.

So what does he do with all that money? Drugs, hookers, cars? That's all jim-dandy fine and all, but why ask fans (who gave you all that money in the first place through buying tickets, shirts, and albums) to give more?

Do what you want tho, but sounds foolish to me. Someone if pulling your leg to get at your wallet. But then..no one ever accused Lamb of God fans of being too smart.

Holy shit, 27000 that's not a lot.
Then again, I live in western Europe with its horribly inflated prices, the Greek, and then some.

It isn't a lot at all..barely scrape by...but I do. it's all good. But I don't piss it away on people like Randy Blythe who can afford his own bills. It takes about all I have just to get by month to month, but hey...there are TRUE people out there who are hurting a lot more than I am! Some with no jobs, or no food or clothes.

So in my own little world, I am doing just fine. =)

All I can say is that if I was him, and made his kind of money, I would request my fans DON'T pay!!! Other than maybe purchasing my bands' products.

It's widely know that most metalheads don't make a lot of money, and if he respected his fans, instead of accepting hand-outs (when he makes $100,000 a yr), he might instead return it with an autograph and a thank you. He doesn't seem all too humble to me. My bet is he wants YOU to pay for HIM.

Fail.

Fans have been asking how they can support and they came through with an option. It is a serious charge and will be expensive in legals fees. There's cool stuff available and some other bands are pitching in.

This auction is not a mandate to donate. Don't like? Don't contribute.

If this is the biggest outrage one has in their world, good for them. Whine away. Your free will is safe despite this voluntary auction. Trust.

Not being racist, just a fact bro.
The billions for Greece weigh on our national debt, which in its turn exceeds the 3% maximum. Greece has failed to comply with this rule since the Maastricht treaty btw.
This makes it necessary for us to cut budgets i.e. Raise taxes and lower/abolish government contributions.
hence sadistikexekution will pay an additional 4000 euros next year in tax increase.
So before calling someone racist, get off your lazy ass and get to work dammit!!
