ANTHRAX's 'Among The Living' 'Audiobiography' Episode Launches On Google Play - Aug. 28, 2012
Thrash-metal masters ANTHRAX and what is arguably the band's signature album, "Among The Living", will be featured on Google Play's "Audiobiography" series starting today.

ANTHRAX's Scott Ian and Joey Belladonna recently pulled back the curtain exclusively for Google Play, discussing at length stories behind the making of their gold-certified 1987 album that includes some of the band's most popular tracks — "I Am The Law", "Indians" and "Caught In A Mosh". Check it out below.

The "Audiobiography" feature launches in tandem with a special catalog sale of some of ANTHRAX's best-loved albums: "Spreading The Disease" (1985), "Among The Living" (1987), "I'm The Man" EP (1987), "State Of Euphoria" (1988), "Persistence Of Time" (1990), "Attack Of The Killer Bs" (1991), "We've Come For You All" (2003), "Caught In A Mosh: BBC Live In Concert" (2007), and the band's most recent release, the critically acclaimed "Worship Music" (2011). All albums are priced at $6.99; two tracks, "Indians" and "Madhouse", are available for only $.49, while "Caught In A Mosh" is being offered as a free download.

"Among The Living" was released at a time when the thrash-metal genre was exploding — METALLICA's "Master Of Puppets", SLAYER's "Reign In Blood" and MEGADETH's "Peace Sells" had just hit the streets, birthing what came to be known as the Big Four. The cover art for "Among The Living" is an original painting that some say features a rendition of the maleficent Rev. Henry Kane from the "Poltergeist" films. As the band's Charlie Benante explained, "The album is basically about Good and Evil...how much evil there is among us."

ANTHRAX is about to hit the road, co-headlining leg three of the ANTHRAX / TESTAMENT / DEATH ANGEL "thrash-fest," marking the first time the band has toured Canada since the release of "Worship Music".

Call me crazy, but I thought Sound of White Noise was their best album. The pre John Bush stuff is good, but I really think they blossomed when John Bush joined.

i agree with you 100% ... sound of white noise and everything following up until worship music ... we've come for you all is STRONG ... i dislike anthrax more and more everytime i read about their blatant attempt to ignore and discredit the john bush era ... foolish

and on a related note ... i recommend everyone who likes anthrax to check out dan spitz's new band - red lamb ... admittedly i am not the biggest fan of dan's guitar playing but this record SMOKES ... i'm doing a 180 on old danno ... his new stuff is far better than the same ole same ole anthrax is putting out ... don't be scared - check it out!

Agreed. John Bush has a better voice, is a better singer, lyricist, songwriter and frontman and Sound Of White Noise and We've Come For You All are as good as Among The Living, they're just not completely thrash albums.

Been a huge fan since the 80s, loved them with Joey but with Bush they had the singer the music deserved.

Having said that, Joeys performance on the last album is the best he's ever been and it is a great album too.

I just love this band, they've always been my favourite of the big four because they've done so much more than just the one sound.

Sound of white noise is their best album if you are into alternative music. We are talking about the thrash metal anthrax here. I'm sure white noise lost them a lot of metal fans. I know I absolutely hated it and to this day, have not listened to it. The only songs I know on that record is what was played on the radio. Worship Music was a revisit to the among the living period. I'll bet they NEVER revisit the white noise period...

Didnt wish John was in the band during the
Joey days, and don't wish him in the band
now. But with that being said I don't wish
anyone but John fronting Armored Saint.

Definately ain't the best. Yes I have heard it, Among The Living, Speading The Disease and Persistence of Time are the top 3. Belladonna is the only true Anthrax singer. The one people want to see.

Well I'm in the Joey camp. This band died with John Bush, Sound Of White Noise? What a misleading title it should be called the sound of a thrash band giving up. Really average album and yet I persisted trying to get into them with Bush for a few albums but just couldn't do it.
