AEROSMITH: 'Music From Another Dimension' Deluxe Version Detailed - Aug. 28, 2012
On November 6, AEROSMITHSteven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) — will release "Music From Another Dimension" on Columbia Records. It marks the band's 15th studio album and their first studio collection of all-new material in 11 years. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and at the band's studio in Massachusetts; it was produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, with the exception of three tracks produced by Tyler and Marti Frederiksen.

"Music From Another Dimension"'s first two singles have been released simultaneously to radio this week. "What Could Have Been Love" is now impacting at Hot AC and "Lover A Lot" at Rock, Active Rock, and Classic Rock. The album features 15 new tracks, including two songs that audiences in North America were treated to on the first leg of the band's triumphant, sold-out "Global Warming Tour".

"Music From Another Dimension" presents AEROSMITH in ferociously fine form and at the peak of their powers. They're the only band of their stature with all-original members and who are playing better than ever have before. The album abounds with one highlight after another, including "Out Go The Lights", "Oh Yeah", "Luv XXX", "We All Fall Down", "Street Jesus" and "Can't Stop Loving You", on which Tyler duets with Carrie Underwood. The album also includes "Freedom Fighter", which features Johnny Depp on backing vocals.

AEROSMITH wrapped their U.S. tour August 12 in Bristow, Virginia. The dates included the band's triumphant, sold-out return to the legendary Hollywood Bowl (August 6) in Los Angeles, where Depp joined the band onstage. A new leg of fall dates will soon be announced to support the release of "Music From Another Dimension".

"It's not that it took ten years," Steven Tyler says, "but that we were busy getting ready!"

"This is the album we wanted to make since the band got back together in 1984," Joe Perry says. "Can't complain about number one singles or album-driven sold-out world tours, as we blaze the AEROSMITH trail with our fans. But this is the record that when the five of us are in a room yelling turn up the volume, that room could be 1325 Commonwealth Avenue (a reference to the band's first apartment where they lived and wrote their first song)."

A deluxe version of "Music From Another Dimension" will include:

* Four live performance videos: "Rats In The Cellar", "Train Kept A Rollin'", "Oh Yeah" and "Same Old Song and Dance"

* Exclusive interviews with the members of AEROSMITH bandmembers

* Three exclusive new bonus tracks: "Up On A Mountain", "Oasis" and "Sunny Side of Love"

The "Music From Another Dimension" track listing is as follows:

01. Luv XXX
02. Oh Yeah
03. Beautiful
04. Tell Me
05. Out Go The Lights
06. Legendary Child
07. What Could Have Been Love
08. Street Jesus
09. Can't Stop Loving You
10. Lover A Lot
11. We All Fall Down
12. Freedom Fighter
13. Closer
14. Something
15. Another Last Goodbye

Four songs with the word "love" in the title. So fucking lame.

I'm bustin your balls...lol I know what you mean and I agree.

No "Love" on the first albums was there? I'm too lazy to look it up.

"I want Rocks again, I want Toys again"....wah wah wah, Blabber babies, please spare us your constant whining about wanting something they've already released. Once your in your 60's & have fame & fortune I'm sure you'll want to release what sold the most, not what a small percentage of fans might want.

Actually, you'd think once they were at this point in their career they'd want to release something decent, because they did at one point love making their own music for their own enjoyment, not radio play I assume. Their legacy is in intact, they are huge with younger crowds and whatnot on Youtube and I'm sure at their shows.

I don't want Rocks or Toys in the Attic again, I just want them to show the type of creativity it took to create those records...Lover Alot is the best song I've heard from the new record and might actually be the best song they've released in 15 years.....if there are 3 or 4 more songs that are good it would be a decent record.

exactly, thank you. Doesn't have to be Rocks, just not "don't wanna miss a thing" or another collaboration with Desmond Child...a few months ago, weren't they saying "Jack Douglas on board, a return to Rocks & Toys".

I thought that was a good point about when was the first time they had a song with that in the title and I believe it surprisingly is Love In An Elevator. That's a lot of good records to make without using it and ironically right when they started to lose it. I'm not including the box set of course.

um... i loved aerosmith... right up to nine lives i loved them... but since then... it's just got sadder and sadder.

And so far what i've heard of this album has been disappointing... i mean fine they're really big and maybe this is what they want to do but... forget rocks and toys... this doesn't even compare with pump, grip and vacation stuff.

On the other hand though i thought Ugly Kid Joe's new EP was quite decent. very Ugly Kid Joe-like.

I guess I am going to be a loaner on this one because I do like what I've heard so far from this new record. It sounds leaps and bounds better than the last few studio records from them. To me, it sounds like a cross between Toys/Rocks and Permanent Vacation/Get A Grip. Very much acceptable.

Now, I do think it is interesting that the word "love" is in so many songs. There could be a number of reasons for that but it does play well with the chicks, I'll grant you that. Back in the day, they were a little more discrete with tracks like You See Me Crying and Home Tonight.

I say wait until the record comes out and listen to the entire thing front to back before judging this one. My money is on that it royally kicks ass.

Apparently this is the album they wanted to make since '84. Hmmm.
The peak of their powers? WTH. Who dares.
The only band of their stature with all original members? I guess they forgot Black Sabbath (almost) or Motley Crue. Well MC aren't quite as legendary but you get the point.
