BLACK SABBATH: Fan-Filmed Video Footage Of Entire LOLLAPALOOZA Performance - Aug. 25, 2012
Three-quarters of the original BLACK SABBATH lineup performed on August 3 as the headliner of this year's edition of the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, with founding drummer Bill Ward sitting out the reunion due to a contract dispute. His fill-in was Ozzy Osbourne touring drummer Tommy Clufetos.

This was SABBATH's only North American performance of 2012 as guitarist Tony Iommi continues his treatment for cancer. The rest of the scheduled SABBATH tour dates were played by Ozzy Osbourne and billed as "Ozzy & Friends."

BLACK SABBATH's Lollapalooza setlist was as follows:

01. Black Sabbath
02. The Wizard
03. Beyond The Wall Of Sleep
04. N.I.B.
05. Into The Void
06. Under The Sun
07. Snow Blind
08. War Pigs
09. Electric Funeral
10. Sweet Leaf
11. Symptom Of The Universe / Drum Solo
12. Iron Man
13. Fairies Wear Boots
14. Dirty Women
15. Children Of The Grave

Encore

16. Paranoid

Fan-filmed video footage of BLACK SABBATH's entire Lollapalooza performance can be seen below.

Ward in May announced again that he was declining to join his former bandmates for its scheduled 2012 dates, as well as the recording of a new album, due to a contractual dispute.

He also allegedly had his lawyers direct SABBATH to remove him from photos of the band posted at the official BLACK SABBATH web site "so as to not give the public the wrong impression about his involvement in the current BLACK SABBATH lineup," according to a statement issued by the band's publicist.

Bassist Geezer Butler issued a lengthy retort at his own web site, writing that Ward "hadn't told any one of us he was having contractual problems, and frankly those things are worked out between our representatives, and never between the four of us, let alone in public."

Until now, Iommi told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that the members of SABBATH stayed friendly even when there were legal or other issues going on. "We've always been talking. We've always been in touch with each other," he said. "There might be a lawsuit in the thing between us, but we still talk to each other like nothing's happened, you know."

Ozzy, Iommi and Butler are working on their first new album together in 33 years.

Wish they played more songs off that record, stuff like The Thrill Of It All , The Writ , Am I Going Insane etc. It is one of the best heavy metal albums ever made IMO.

Ozzy is clearly done. I totally understand their "now or never" line of thinking as far as doing one last album and tour with Ozzy, but afterwards I hope Tony and Geezer move on to another project, maybe with a younger vocalist who still has it.

I hate banging on bands based on youtube clips. The sound is never good enough to really give you an accurate idea as to how the concert sounded if you were there.
is
That said, I'm going do what I hate and say Ozzy is bringing the whole band down. He looks and sounds a lot rougher than the first two concerts this summer.

I guess in his defense, he played gigs to meet Sabbath's commitments.

As usual, Tony and Geezer sound great.

What a shame that this will inevitably be the last nail in the coffin for Sabbath and it has to be riddled with all of this negative shit, and compromise. I think everyone on all sides of this should just buck up and do what has to be done in order for it to be done right. As a lifelong fan, it really sucks to have to compromise by accepting a fractured version of the original band. I'm sure whatever it is will beat going out on "Forbidden", but none the less, with everyone still alive and able to play, it would have been a great farewell to the true heroes of metal.

which is why he was cut out of the reunion. At this stage in their career for an original band member to be treated this way by a greedy wife /manager is just sad.

Black Sabbath has NEVER been a perfect band. This is not fucking Dream Theater... and THANK GOD for that! Ozzy was more outta tune in the 70's, check out some youtube clips. Yes, he cracks more now, but he's 63 years old! If you don't understand this band, don't fucking listen to them. The only person that is going to give a shit is Sharon Osbourne.

And BTW... where are all the guys that claim Ozzy has a singer behind the stage singin' for him? I guess he's only at the gigs when Ozzy sounds decent...

Talk all the shit you want. I'm gonna go ahead and enjoy the 3/4 of BLACK FUCKING SABBATH while I still can...

Peace.

(AND if your gonna bitch about whats out of tune... you should probably KNOW whats out of tune... Sweet Leaf was... Under the Sun wasn't.)

Wow, Dirty Women is a fucking travesty. How much lower can they tune their instruments to accommodate Ozzy's shit voice? I'm surprised Tony's strings aren't falling off. Ozzy sucks, might as well be talking through the whole thing. Time to hang it up, gents!

Tommy Clufetos is to "Black Sabbath" as Scott Bonham is to "Led Zepplin". While Black Sabbath could easily just pay Bill Ward more and get him back into the fold, well, Led Zepplin could at least find a half decent replacement for John Bonham.
