GODSMACK Singer: No 'Permanent Injury' To Voice - Aug. 20, 2012
GODSMACK kicked off the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival tour with SHINEDOWN, STAIND and others on Friday (August 17) in Bonner Springs, Kansas, with singer Sully Erna starting his first major tour since canceling a European run several weeks ago over throat issues. Erna told The Pulse Of Radio just as the trek got underway that he's fine now, and explained what happened. "It was actually a bit of an infection that I had in the back of my throat, and I was exhausted, I hadn't slept in three days when we got to Europe, and it was just a combination of being like really tired, singing exhausted and just pushed myself a little too hard," he said. "And I injured it enough that I had to kind of shut it down, but it wasn't like a permanent injury or something like that. It was the first and only time it's ever happened in my career, and I don't expect this to become a habit."

Also on the Uproar bill are PAPA ROACH, ADELITAS WAY, P.O.D., DEUCE, REDLIGHT KING and others. The tour pulls into Grand Rapids, Michigan on Tuesday (August 21).

GODSMACK will also be one of the headliners on the ShipRocked 2012 cruise this year, taking off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida in late November for five days.

GODSMACK's first-ever live album, "Live & Inspired", which sold around 16,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 19 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Released on May 15 via Universal Republic Records, "Live & Inspired" features fierce and furious live renditions of numerous hits from the Massachusetts rockers' five studio albums.

Apparently they merited your undivided attention. I guess we should all feel so honored.

Don't even need to read the comments to see all the inevitable douchebags with nothing better to do than knock Godsmack. Do you people just troll the site looking for articles about Godsmack, Nickelback, and Five Finger Death Punch to release your unjustified vitriol against?

Get a life.
