LAMB OF GOD Performs Live For First Time Since RANDY BLYTHE's Release From Prison - Aug. 18, 2012
LAMB OF GOD returned to the live stage last night (Friday, August 17) in Council Bluffs, Iowa as part of SLIPKNOT's first-ever Knotfest, an extraordinary two-date metal and hard rock festival.

Low-quality fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe was released from a prison in Prague on August 2, more than a month after he was arrested and incarcerated. Blythe was facing the possibility of conviction and a long-term jail sentence after a 2010 incident in which a fan attending a LAMB OF GOD show died almost a month later, allegedly from injuries sustained when he was thrown off the stage. Blythe's predicament galvanized the heavy rock community, with artists across the hard rock genre pledging their support.

Interviewed by a Czech media outlet before boarding the plane to go home, Blythe said, "I'm relieved to be out of jail but if it's necessary for me to return to Prague to go to this court thing, I certainly will, I'm no flight risk."

Blythe added that he had no memory at all of the incident in question, saying, "I feel very bad that a fan of my band is dead and his family has to go through it, it's terrible, I feel awful for them but it's a tragic coincidence . . . we had no knowledge whatsoever that someone had been injured much less died."

The case is expected to be heard in court in December.

Blythe and his bandmates are already rescheduling a canceled U.S. tour for October.

You have it exactly backwards. Unlike the USA, the Czech Republic must actually charge you with a crime before they lock you up for a strictly limited amount of time. In the home of the brave and the land of the formerly free, the US gov't doesn't have to charge you with a crime before locking you up indefinitely.

Not even the bad, old Soviet Union locked people up indefinitely they at least limited your detention to 25 years.

Without Slipknot, that is a pretty decent lineup.

At least they play last so you don't have to hang around. I loved that, on the Canadian Carnage Tour in 2009, Megadeth closed in Calgary rather than Slayer so we were able to go to the bar and beat the rush.

Lamb of God, Machine Head, and Prong were the highlights of the day. Obviously, the crowd went fucking ballistic as soon as Randy walked onstage. The first thing he said was "goddamn, Iowa, you have no idea how happy I am to be standing here in a corn field." Hell of a show.

And Machine Head literally rocked so damn hard before LoG, that they blew the generators (RIGHT in the middle of friggin Halo, no less), making LoG about 30 minutes late on their start time.

Deftones were pretty good, but I didn't stay on that side for long, once I saw the crew setting up Lamb of God's gear on the other stage. Didn't really care to see Serj, tho. I still don't get why System didn't play, since they're kinda on tour with Deftones.

Out of the 10 times I've seen them, Slipknot was meh...Joey was totally off, and was playing shit at least half speed. Seriously, when they were playing Spit It Out, I wasn't sure if I should go fuck shit up in the pit, or slow dance with my wife. Being a huge Slipknot fan, it pisses me off to say that this particular performance sucked, and sucked badly.

Randy and the Clown, sittin' in a tree...S. U. C. K.-ING.
The Clown bangs his buckets; Randy goes to jail.
Both of these shit-bands are mighty mighty stale.

Gojira, LOG and Dethklok tour should have never been canceled. Should have found a replacement singer.

Randy lost a bit of his swagger. He seemed a little off and not as chaotic as he used to. I hope he didn't get raped while he was in prison.

All bands from metal to dubstep should boycott that disgusting third world sewer known as the Czech Republic! And Czech bands should flee as soon as possible! Those people don't deserve ANY music at all!!!

Mr Bungle playing their 1st release in it's entirety in their old costumes woulda been sick! LOG r heavier than Tones but Tones have versatility which is a nice set up for a Knot finisher. Tones' last record was flawless! Glad Randy is back!!! \m/\m/

Deftones killed this I heard , along with machinehead and log of coarse, but their subtle heaviness and almost ambient wave of sound is hard to create and they do it well. Love those guys. Should of got tool to come as well.

Randy try to kill any fans? Hope everyone is safe and don't try to have fun and stagedive or else you might get murdered at the hands of Randy Blythe.
