Even though it is NOT Thin Lizzy without Phil Lynott, I'd still like to see one of these "tribute" shows...

These guys are true pros. and do justice to TL's music; made me get into the band even more! Those 2 other CA dates w/out DP will be cool as last time (small club)! We fans still hope for a BM reunion late this year... johnsykes.com

John Sykes is an amazing player. I've heard that BM (Blue Murder, not a bowel movement) are great live, but never got to see them back in the day!!!

Screw these dinosaurs! They were lame and boring in the beginning, and I would imagine painfully so now.

Only Queersryche were actually pretty exciting back in the day. Thin Lizzy's always been a snore-fest.

You gotta be kiddin' me, dude. Thin Lizzy/Phil Lynott were ahead of their time and wrote some great stuff. DP may be dinosaurs, but i'll take them over 99 % of the crap being passed off for rock n' roll these days.

COMMENT | Call it, "John Sykes plays the music of Thin Lizzy"

I'm not surprised by the negative comments. People just dont know!
America's about the only major country that Lizzy wasnt HUGE in. If you ask most American fans to name a TL song they'll say BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN or JAILBREAK, and that will be it!
The Black Rose (with Gary Moore) is a personel fav.

Having said that, I dont think they should call this "band" lizzy. I've always been bothered by reunion line-ups with just one original member (which isnt even the case here because Scott Gorham didnt come along until 1974).
Still, it was interesting to hear them play the old stuff, especially THE BLACK ROSE which I'd never heard live up until that point.
Bottom line - they didnt embarrass themselves. They did the music justice.

Before you slam a bands credibility, perhaps you should learn about their history and total influence on just about every twin-guitar NWOBHM band that ever existed. The ORIGINAL (lynott still alive) version of Thin Lizzy was/is one of the most respected bands of all time. Although my respect for John Sykes as a musician is endless, I think that they've rode the "Tribute To (the late) Phil Lynott" train long enough. When this lineup has the balls to record new material under the name Thin Lizzy..then I'll take notice perhaps. Thin Lizzy is NOT John Sykes, Scott Gorham and whatever hire-by-numbers rythym section they can get for whatever tour. Bring back Blue Murder and regain some dignity, Sykes.

we care about thin lizzy. I Have no problem with this reunion tour as I only got into heavy music around when PHIL died. To hear a song like "Thunder and Lightning" LIVE would be worth the ticket price itself.

about four times already and it is indeed great. Closest you'll get to THIN LIZZY these days. But for christ sake it's not the original band. They should really drop the name already.
